Really weird that he picked them during the OV and apparently decommitted on the drive out of Athens. Wonder if his shoe company called him and swayed him back to VT (sarcasm)?

Look, I think it's unfair at this point to call Nolley a head case. Who knows what's going on in his recruitment, and I don't want to speculate. If he wants to come here, we take him. Period.
But man.....as a fan, there is no way in hell I'm getting sucked into this drama. I'd gladly take the Finnish kid at this point, and focus all efforts on Ayo.

I think you have to put the full-court press on Valtonen and hope he likes the system, campus, players, and coaches. Nolley has way too much going on. You want a player that believes in and wants to be with your program. He didn't even have Illinois in his top two. The spot has to be Valtonen's if he wants it. Even if Valtonen goes with ASU I wouldn't be too sure about pursuing Nolley. It's hard to get behind a player that indecisive.

Yes. No doubt that we prioritize Valtonen right now, and I think with him visiting this week, that's exactly what we'll do.
To suddenly shift focus and try to jump back onto the Nolley train would reek of desperation and probably would rub Valtonen the wrong way. If Valtonen commits to ASU, then you get back in touch with Nolley. Not until then.
To me it's obvious that one of two things happened.
Either Fox is about to be fired, or some school came calling that Nolley couldn't say no too.

Think it had more to do with his parents being unhappy with his choice.
Fox' seat is definitely hotter than Buzz or BU.

Just from reading their boards last week, the parents seemed to be all about VT. But that's from their boards so take fwiw.
It is pretty easy to see what is going to happen. VT was only school parents visited. UI fans don't get sucked in again. Valtonen is a fine player.
