One day and done!

Sounds like this young man has too many people telling him what to do. Yes, we still want him, but does he want us? Too much drama, think twice before we accept commit, after we see Valoten plans. Ayo #1 priority, focus on his visit.:thumb::illinois:

I think Nolley is a very intelligent young man to admit his mistake and come to UI and welcome him.

Just caught up...I thought the first comment about Nolley de-commiting was a joke.

So, how long before Cuonzo's in-home?

I just don't see us being a player at this point. Don't confuse that with "we don't want him" Pretty clear he wanted to be at Georgia, his parents wanted him at VT. UI was/is on the outside looking in. Best case scenario is coaches close the deal with Valtonen and we move on

I retract my head case comment. Wish the kid well. And, for the record, I'd take him in a heartbeat. That said, really hope we land the Finn.

I agree. The whole bracket thing led me to believe that he was taking a deliberate and well thought out (albeit hyped up) approach to the recruitment.

on side note..it seems weird that his parents wouldnt go on an OV in Athens since its basically a local visit ( referencing someones saying that VT is the only OV parents went on?)

So... His parents only went on one visit... He chose a different school... And for some reason, it seems his parents have insisted he go to VT? Even though he'd be much closer at GA? Gosh, it almost seems as if his parents have some unexplainable motivation to want him to go to VT. College hoops recruiting sure is hard to figure out. Kind of like when baseball players inexplicably started shattering home run records.

You don't get out of the mess we have been in for 10 years by all of a sudden turning down a top player because he committed somewhere else first. Sure we want Valoten but lets be honest, if Nolley said hey I want to go to Illinois, you say yes and never look back

lol you really think that Nike is going to be pulling that type of stuff after the FBI announcement, and for a kid that isn't a top-30 recruit? Also, I don't exactly think VT is one of Nike's top basketball programs.

Five-star guard Anfernee Simons said close to 30 schools have reached out since decommitting from Louisville. Did in-homes with South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, Dayton and SMU.

It isn't as simple as that. We got strung along, wasted a lot of time and effort, and still got dumped. 2 other schools got chosen ahead of us. If I'm BU, I move on and never look back. This isn't a Kipper Nichols sort of thing.

No it is as simple as that... you need good players to win and Nolley is probably the second best player we are recruiting
