Ayo, and nolley will be playing college basketball together. You do the math. Hope this isn't too offensive for some,of you. ILL

O Cash you were so money when you were in your prime. Should have hung it up when you were on top. Stayed way to long.

I'm far more excited about the possible renewal of the original top choices, Ayo and THT together.

If we can land those two, first off we happy dance. Then, I'd just sit and wait to see what happens with a big man in the spring.

This is probably the best year to do that because the fbi investigation will probably shake some studs loose late in the process.

Yep, so lets continue to run off anyone with any knowledge. The messenger killing here is awful.

To be fair, he was completely wrong. If we are going to praise people when they are right, it is only fair that they are also called out when they are wrong. I'm not saying you try to run everyone off, but clearly the "knowledge" that cash had wasn't so great this time or it wouldn't have been proven wrong within hours.

As I wrote earlier, I have no idea why Henricksen would write an article concerning several people, knowing any or all of them could have denied it.
And he may have called the Temple coaches, but it wasn't while Jalen was at Villanova, the Brunsons had announced it was down to Illinois and Villanova shortly before the two visits, or shortly after the Illinois visit. My memory is a bit hazy and I'm too lazy to look it up this morning. At any rate Temple knew they were out before he went to Villanova.

No offense miketherevelator, but that is not the correct timeline. Brunson did not announce that it was down to Illinois and Villanova before he visited Villanova. Jalen did not cut Temple (and others) before the Villanova visit. Jalen Brunson set his announcement date (Oct. 10) on Saturday Sept. 6, while actually still on campus for the Villanova official visit, and the news were broken to media by the Villanova rivals analyst.

It was also reported both on Temple forums (still in the archives of the recruiting thread) and Philly radio that Rick Brunson notified the Temple staff on Saturday Oct. 6, out of courtesy to one of his best friends (Aaron McKie, assistant coach). Not that "Temple wasn't going to be the choice" but that "Jalen was going to Villanova." (For those who understand the Philly rivalry, it takes a lot for Temple coaches/fans to just repeat those words). BTW, on other post, I do not coach in Illinois, I do coach in Mid-Atlantic.

PS1. When the new broke out on Oct. 6, the predominant thought on IL was that Jalen was picking Nova because he got word that Evans was committing to IL (Evans was on OV at IL the same weekend). Obviously, that was not the case.

PS2. No offense to Joe, but Rick is far from an "honest" source of info. He presents a meticulous decision process, but Rick would have taken Jalen to Temple with him, had it not been for the sexual assault charges... process or no process... ;)

LMFAO! When will people learn? There are no insiders here.

I'm telling you. There is some extreme wishful thinking on this board.....people selectively filtering the info they listen to based on whether it comforts them or not.

Cash is right there with Brookstaylorfan and others who peddled "inside information" that got people amped up only to induce meltdown after meltdown. Why people keep falling for the trap, I have no idea.

If you honestly thought Illinois was the destination for Nolley, you weren't paying attention. This was sooooooo obviously VT if you bothered to pay attention to all the info rather than the false hope peddled by homers here.

The guys with press credentials don't know so folks on this board are just guessing. If they are right they come back and demand we call them insiders.

Years ago I knew the coach of a 6 star player. Didn't think he would go to Illinois but thought Michigan so did his coach. His decision surprised all. This future NBA HOF made a good decision for himself. So his coach a true insider didn't even have the right info.

What knowledge? He's been dead wrong about twenty times in a row now. We'd be better off just guessing ourselves.

It doesn't matter. We chase off everyone. Just take in the post and decide for yourself whether you want to believe it. There is no need to flame everyone one this board who provides info.

If you make a post that is proven wrong within hours, you deserve what you get.

True....but I find the people who spend 2 pages just getting up in arms about someone being wrong far more annoying than the person who said the wrong info. Just let it go and move on. If you believe everything on here and don't approach it with a we'll see attitude you haven't been following long enough

No offense taken, Ob. :thumb:

Does anyone really keep score of who is right or not?

Who really cares most of us are wrong way more than we are right when it comes to recruiting predictions, record predictions, who will score how many points, who the rotation will be.

LOL.

Nobody is suggesting Cash leave this board.

But goodness.....he returns with this bold prediction only to see Nolley commit to VT within hours. Gotta admit.....even by this board's "insider" standards, that's a classic whiff.

So, what info exactly is he providing? And would you continue to trust "knowledge" from somebody who is consistently wrong? It's your choice.....but I sure hope you don't apply the same strategy to financial advice.

I get it. I just get tired of the constant flaming of every "insider" when they are wrong. It just creates an environment where even if you do know something there is zero benefit to post it.

The Ayo recruitment has nothing to do with Nolley.

No doubt about it. Again.....package deals rarely materialize, and that notion was pure wishful thinking based on tweets and other behavior that message boards over interpret.

I think we stand a very good chance with Ayo. Nolley was gone weeks ago.

Agree 100%

This is all in good fun.

Hey I'm paying top $$ to be on this website so I can get all this inside info then tell all my friends the next day. Makes me look like I'm Mr. Illini to them..... I'm just kidding with ole Cash. I once said C. Martin was our next coach so come on in the water is fine.
