Agree, think all the drama was created just so someone could pedal a few more papers. Both young men are outstanding players , and the staff have convinced them WE (Illini ) are the place for them. Have a feeling that Nolley was figuring it out , decided he would go elsewhere.
If all comes out in our favor on Thursday, the staff should be commended on great handling of the situation, and we are fortunate to gain 2 of the state's best players for '18 class. This is what will make things in recruitment alot easier , when players from our state decide to stay home. Self and Izzo will have something to contend with when they poke there nose in Chicago or anywhere else in Illinois. Cal and Coach K too.

Has UI related media ever gone to an announcement and the recruit didn't pick UI? I can't recall that ever happening and I started following recruiting on this board for the DJax recruitment.
Maybe Cliff? I think I've tried my best to push that whole recruitment out of my memory. Better yet, has WCIA (or any other UI news outlet) ever streamed an announcement and the recruit didn't pick UI? I wouldn't think they would waste the time and resources, but I guess they get views either way.

I think Piper and Werner both going is a little telling, They must think its going to go well or just one of them could handle things. WCIA kind of feel the same way. They could say they will cover it, but to have a live feed to me means they think its a good outcome, but we really arent talking about them going a long way to cover things

Honestly, people need to cut it out. We must have the most fragile, psychotic, schizophrenic fan base in college athletics.
We got a commitment from one of the top 3 PGs nationally. We're on the cusp of landing the #2 prospect in the state. Yet, all I see is....."I have a bad feeling" or "this is so Illinois'".
There are about 10 pages of drama that is totally unnecessary. Leave it alone! If there's an issue, Underwood knows about it and all of the adults in the room will come to a conclusion.
The he said/she said...the painting of a a dramatic picture that will lead to our demise.....honestly, get past it. There is a reason why people like Teddy Greenstein and Dan Bernstein bash us and laugh at us. You don't have to go any farther than the drama majors on this board to figure it out.
If these young men get interviewed and questioned about this nonsense, that would be really pathetic.

THT has handled this recruitment great and it awesome on the court. We are so close to the possibility that these two come to Illinois. THT is a man and Ayo is a future pro. The combination along with the talent that is already on the team would make me beyond optimistic. THT changes everything because Mark Smith changed everything and then Ayo did too. 3 top level players on a CBB makes all the difference. We are so close at this very moment. I sure hope THT decides to rep his state. ILL
Not to pick nits but I thought I heard or read (probably on here) that he lives closer to Evanston. So add another hour from there. And with traffic…
