Any word on our recruitment of Tim Finke these days? And did the rumor of OA's mystery Euro big ever prove true?

Meh - not sure it was all that respectful - just enough to stay in the conversation for as long as he could. I don't get why fans from opposing teams come over to other boards to 'prove' how much better their team is. The lack of very simple research on our history and perspective began to get annoying - e.g Ayo should pick WF just because of Manning and Hoard? WF is celebrating a 19 win season - we were lamenting one and expecting much more.

5th year bigs were available last spring and some should be around this spring. Not sure why we didn't go after the NIU big that ended up at DePaul.

Finke is likely waiting til spring. We are likely waiting as well. Seems unlikely he comes here although I would be happy to see it.

I would have a really hard time believing that BU and the rest of the coaching staff would be recruiting THT after Ayo has given a verbal, if they thought that the 2 players couldn't exist and play together on the same team. I am sure there have been situations where players on the same team have had disagreements....but in the end the coaching staff have been able to resolve those differences whatever they were.......I hope tomorrow is another good day for the O & B.....here's hoping that THT joins Illini nation and has the opportunity to be a part of something special.:shakehands:

Visited an Iowa State board, which is a bad idea but they're not too insane, nothing like wake.

However, they clearly have no idea about the Simeon Illinois connection. There have been so many players from that school play at Illinois I've never been able to fully convince myself he wasn't illini bound even when the rumors didn't look good.

It's pretty simple this kid has given nothing away. The rumors, good and bad, have not come from any quotes or tweets from Talen.

Both Ayo and THT ran very quiet calm recruitments. Hoping they pair up for a couple years in Champaign.

I'm seeing Ayo in a Dee type role, THT as roger Powell, Mark Smith as Deron, Damonte as Luther, we just need an augie. Now granted that has little baring to underwood's system but still, we still talk about those guys all these years later. Ayo and THT paired up can etch themselves into the illini lore right along with that 05 team.

I don't think a staff good enough to land Ayo, could also be bad enough to screw up and not understand if their truly is a rift between THT and Ayo that would jeopardize the whole thing.

Perhaps THT will be our big. He is only 16 and growing 3 or 4 inches is not unrealistic.

Isn't it nice to be talking about recruiting battles....instead of players with off court issues and wondering who will be eligible or even on the team..:)
