show starts at 9 here is whats on tap….

9:30- @BSnowScout on #Illini THT and Ayo

http://espncu.com/stream.html

Nothing really new that hasn't been discussed:

Needed to hit a grand slam on visit, staff hit it out of the park.

Brad loves THT. Being compared to Thomas Walkup at SFA.

Huge perception change - not only the top two players in the state/Chicago, but also the top two HS programs in the state.

Snow says last week he wouldn't have thought THT would go to UI.

Messy breakup, not particularly friends to begin with. Difference between being friends and teammates, but Snow doesn't think Ayo/THT want to play with each other. Maybe cooler heads will prevail. Doesn't think it is a deal breaker, but staff has to massage the situation.

The new comments by Q that Kedric posted should have us all feeling good.

NBA TV money is hitting all new highs. These recruits and younger kids love the NBA. Offense drivers viewership. In my opinion, I think the college game is becoming too slow. Too many stops in play. I know Coach Underwood will play fast and I think that is a huge perk for Illinois. I would assume these recruits want to play a similar style to the NBA.

I always had trouble deciding who I preferred between Nolley and THT.

My fear with Nolley was that I always got a diva vibe. I think he wants to have fun and dance and score, my fear was does he have any interest in playing defense.

Nolley is a bit taller and shoots a bit better which are big on his side, but I think THT is the all around better player because of all the skills he brings to the table.

He probably went to the wrong school. Doesn't Buzz Williams have a rep for being more hard a$$ed than BU?

Sounds to me as if we just got 3 new recruiters, and these 3 may end up having as much clout getting Chicagoans to stay home and play as anyone.:chief:

BINGO, they will advocate to ensure their son is surrounded by talent during his time here. Safe to say the Chi-Town Pipeline is now resurrected and should be for several years.

There was a time when a lot of people here were hyping Valtonen as our best option. The way I saw it then was this (and I still believe it now):

#1. THT -- his all-around game separates him from the pack. It's great to have a pure shooter, but players like THT are rare. He's a mini Draymond Green.

#2. Nolley -- great shooter and athlete. Better shooter than THT, but lacks that all-around game.

#3. Valtonen

After we land our mini draymond, I think our staff may still try to find a way to get their shooter. They have one right in their own backyard who just may be the perfect fit & mold to plug into this scheme with the current cast of players that's being assembled..

No inside info or anything on that, just using logics.

I agree with most of what you said, but I would put the Might Finn 2nd because of your reason on Nolley, I thought the Finn had a much better all around game, But I think you left off the BIGGEST plus for THT being a Simeon kid to me is a huge plus

Only problem is his shooting was not good all summer.

Looks like I'll be doing the train-taxi thing Dec. 2. Simeon vs Chaminade (Hellems); Finke vs Ayo; Malik Hall and Sunrise Christian vs LaLu. Great day of hs hoops.

I'm not personally worried about Tim's shooting.
I'm confident that it will return.
College coaching will get him back to dead eye status.

Assuming we get Ayo and THT.

At the 1-3 we will have Lucas, Frazier, Williams, Smith, Ayo, THT, and Jordan. Now granted THT and Finke could see some time at the 4 in Underwood's system, but where does Finke fit in?

I'd say if Finke has a great year this winter he could earn that spot back, but as it sits now, not sure where he fits.

If we get THT, probably the only way TF fits is if we are unable to land a big that we want. In this case, I doubt he would be willing to come anyway. Kid will have some good options. I'd like to have him, but he doesn't want to be an afterthought.

Sorry, I didn't meant "only" one, just directing it towards his podcasts.
But I still haven't seen any other reports with direct quotes or solid evidence.

Piper/Werner have direct contact with family members on both sides.
