Y'all need to relax on Hopkins. It seems pretty obvious by now that no one knows except the kid and his family, and maybe even he's not completely decided yet. Additionally, it's possible that there are mis-directions and rumors being purposefully introduced to the rumor mill to throw people off the scent. "Insiders" are only as good as their source, and if the sources want to derail the narrative, then nothing should be treated as "fact." This is a classic wait-and-see. Hopefully it's not a classic wait-and-nutpunch.

I'm going to be totally unreasonable and predict Hopkins picks Illinois. Against all crystal balls to Kentucky and the Providence talk. Brad's getting it done, GO BRAD!!!!

GO illini
I like your optimism!!!!

Hope I'm sitting next to you next summer at Lucas Oil Stadium in the 2021 National Championship game vs. Villanova ---- (with the vaccine widely distributed across the US, and the virus fully eradicated) ---- and with Ayo walking the ball up court as we trail the Wildcats by 1 point and 22 seconds left on the clock.

I think I would prefer Ayo walking the ball up the court with us up by 22 and 1 second left.

So would this rule out Kentucky since all the smoke and balls are trending their way?

I would think the opposite actually.

If all the CBs say Kentucky and all conventional wisdom points towards Kentucky, then it’s almost as if the decision is already known and won’t be a surprise or a big moment.

If I wanted to pick Kentucky and everyone knew it, one way to make the decision more uncertain would be to add legitimate reasons for other schools.

Some good choices may be the in-state flagship school that is on the rise and recruiting me hard...and a smaller school that my family has deep personal connections with.

Just a thought.

Book it, it's a date!
We are going to win it all, I hope😎

P.S. I like the up by 22 with 1 second much better, my heart can't take the last second shot thing .

Crap. This makes way too much sense. Consider my buzz killed.

Btw, my sources tell me it’s a “non-committable” offer at this point & stage ....
I think you're right its not really son indicator of anything but could they possibly be preparing for not being able to get Wesley Cadet..? I watched some footage of this RJ Melendez he's really not that bad and has a different game than Hopkins..

Any possibility with Paul Atkinson? Grad transfer from Yale and Co-Player of Year in Ivy League. 6’10” & 220 lbs. over 17 pts and 7 rebounds per game. Also shoots 63% from the field. Supposedly would have 1 yr to play.
