Guys, I don't say much.
Being completely transparent here, I would never put Chiefs on here just to throw darts.
I was told a very specific thing. When I'm told this, I will occasionally share the random pop in to Loyalty.
I'm not in the business of flip/flopping.
Sometimes, things are messy behind the scenes.
Yes, we all know where the CB's lay currently.
Yes, it seems like a longshot when hearing the overwhelming chatter to the UK side.
I will own it (if wrong) and apologize for misguiding people's faith, after this announcement happens.
Also, I won't be the guy who ever says I told you so.
I have a passion for Illini Basketball and try to share in that passion with Loyalty, when possible.

I believe. Come home Bryce!

Right or wrong, as long as you’re a Sox fan you’re OK by me 👍

The suspense right now waiting on this commitment will never change. As long as you peruse this thread you’ll find this same situation again and again. It’s been like that way since Shaun Livingston chose Duke to skip past on his way to the NBA.

The suspense must be the reason you visit; otherwise, what’s the point? All of these players will sign somewhere, just wait then, and follow the 2020/2021 thread in the mean time.

if you’re looking to the “insiders” for comfort and shelter from the suspense then that’s not fair to them.

Have fun, and enjoy the ride.

My problem is when the enthusiasm of the board and fan base is exploited with click bait, and trolls. The Groce years were miserable with the riddles and everything else; it was embarrassing.

Appreciate that guys like QC and 0440, et al appear to post respectfully and aren’t trolling us as far as I can tell. That hasn’t always been the case with the “insiders”. Trust me it could be much worse than it is now.

Events this fall have certainly reinforced the fact that college coaching is a tough gig (and that's without even having played a game in 7 months)! It sure requires a multi-faceted toolkit.

* Strategist
* Public Relations Director
* Parent/Counselor - Team Leader
* Recruiter
* Motivational guru

I truly don't think it will happen this time, but I hope we don't endure the same fate as Weber following the 2005 run. It's important to leverage (on the recruiting front) all of the positive momentum generated when you have the ball rolling in the right direction on a national stage.

Can't fault a kid for picking his dream school - even if it's not the logical choice for playing time and opportunity. It's easy to back seat recruit but in all honesty we shouldn't feel bad we lost to Kentucky....it's Kentucky. When have we won a recruiting battle with them? We aren't blue bloods just yet and the fact we were in the running is huge to the future of the program.

Regardless, we are in a great spot with Mac and need him if Kofi leaves. The transfer/spring market is going to be insane with the added year from the NCAA ruling. Still going to be plenty of fish in the sea come Spring.

If the "insiders" and other did not post insights, hunches, inferences, conjectures, hypotheses and backstage information there would not be much to talk about e.g. "Crystal Balls say Team X, lets go home."

Truth. The frustrated ones who post here probably have not given much thought to the alternative. The info may not be right in the end, but it's not malicious either. And the insiders posted a lot of good info, even though it's dealing with something that's often subjective. We probably were in it, and there was misdirection. If you don't have your cup handy when going against UK in recruiting, you're just not thinking straight.

You wouldn't happen to be Big Tim or friends with him would you? (seeing the KY tag under your photo makes me wonder if you have the same source as Tim had). Either way, Keep posting - ignore any hate as it's an overwhelming minority. I and most others here love your contributions.

We do really need to win the MAC recruitment. Problem is there's about 15 teams that would be interesting to him that are still looking for a big, because as someone said earlier, the class is weak at the 5. Even though it makes sense to us that he would want to follow Kofi and come here, our odds are still not great with so many suiters.

Still important to build solid ties with recruits, players do transfer down the road.

Just be glad the school's AD won't talk for an hour before the announcement.

I mean, any other year.....it's obviously UK....but it's 2020......so he'll of course reach for a pair of UK socks on a table, then put them down and put on Illini socks.

This has been a very disappointing recruiting season so far. I'm not getting my hopes up with this one, but maybe we'll get a surprise--you never know.

I just hope that the current team lives up to their hype and the staff can regroup

True, you never really know. I think many of us are getting ahead of ourselves here with how we view our program. We have one season of consistent success and competitive play that was cut short. We have a returning roster with a lot of talent and hype, but a lot needs to be proven on the court still. I get there is more immediate playing time here and all of that, but it's not a shock to me why a kid like this would pick Kentucky. They are year in and year out a top program nationally. We have a higher preseason rank, but we all know that doesn't mean a lot.

So let's pump the brakes, take what comes our way, and enjoy the season ahead. I trust BU and company to get us where we want to go.

We have a streak of one in a row. However it was a pretty significant turnaround in talent and coaching. Like to see highly rated recruits and think Mac is important but we will still have Sr. Giorgi, Jr. Jermaine, Redshirt Freshman Lieb. Soph. Cole, and maybe BBV. That is still a lot more size than we’ve had in the recent past and the transfer market will be huge with success this year. Not too worried about the recruiting.
