You guys just got to let this play out. Nothing is finalized yet.

Trust the staff. They know what they are doing.:shield:

They will get us a big.
I trust the staff. Just know that it is going to take awhile to build some credibility. Until then I need to blend enthusiasm with reality.

Sucks because theres no way to take that decommit as a good thing. Playing time was one of our selling points. Sounds like he is Michigan bound.

Let's see how this plays out. Playing time might have been one of OUR selling points but I'm betting our coaching staff has much more.

Can't you? Illinois has been the poster child for chronic bridesmaid in recruiting for a decade. And it's playing out again.

But I'm not pessimistic, personally. Staff has an air of confidence and competence. They will make things happen.

Yup to all of this.

Underwood can at least claim superiority over Michigan by virtue of beating them in the tournament last year. So we've got that going for us.

The only way Michigan would send that kid packing is if they already know CC & the other kid are committed to play there.

Give up 92 points and 16 three's tells you something about Underwood's defense.:)

I'm sure they will. But it won't be an elite big, look at the bigs they rushed to sign last year. I hope they work out but they were rated lower than Ibby Djimde. CC is not coming here, he wanted to go to FL, and we were his second pick, when they said no he leaned toward us, until he got an offer from any other school, and he has that now. CC is going to Michigan and watch how our fan base spins that the much lower rated player we eventually sign is a "much better fit." By the way, I hate that I'm going to be right.

The ND-SFA tournament game is on YouTube, and I watched it recently. SFA's defense was intense and swarming; they seemed to double team every ND player. I was tired watching it. The announcers talked about a drill Underwood runs where the defense plays 4 on 5 and had to get two (or three, I forget) stops in a row to end it. He said sometimes it took 45 minutes. On the flip side, they didn't seem to get many shots off in the first seven seconds of a possession, and probably not due to ND's defense.

I have an aversion to the Big 12, so I didn't look for any OSU games, but they seemed quite different. It will be interesting to see what .Underwood makes the Illini into.

As I said , staff has done all it can, I have faith they will have someone that wants to be here, It may still be CC.

At least the worst case scenario is someone who doesn't want to be here. At least that's someone... :thumb:

If we can sign Conduitt, it might be the beginning of a new pipeline we could tap into. We could be wired in to a lot of new recruiting options, but at this junction it's just a possibility -- trying to stay grounded. I wonder what it will take to flip that switch and have the light go on in Conduitt's head?

Hah! Outstanding. I laughed. Out loud. All by myself in my den.

That's pretty obvious considering Kisunas is on campus and accelerated his visit to Illinois. So yes, I think this staff WILL get a big, and it'll be Kisunas.

Not really sure what to think about that. I'm not a guy that lives and dies on national rankings, but he's not heralded anywhere. He's big and seems pretty slowish. And he certainly doesn't seem like the kind of fit that Underwood is looking for in a big. But hey, the coaches have a better feel for these things than we do, so our only option is to let it ride.

I'm just afraid that we're going to be entering dangerous territory in a year or two in the front court, when we have nobody who even sniffed a top-100. We're going to be placing a lot of hope in guys like Spicy G to develop.

Have you not seen this guy move? He can run and scrap.

CC has been on the fence, but we are in his final 2. The staff has done about all they can do bring him here. If he doesn't come here, TBH, he decided we just wasn't good enough for him. If that is so, we are better off.

The staff will also been in to see home following this visit.. all is well ppl!

Can't belive the pessimism here.

Seriously, but I'm not surprised! Just two days ago this board had written Conditt off. Now, just one in-home and and a decommitt later, this board is back on board with Slim Jim!

Lbs, some of you guys on this board need to invest in a sturdy, more stable surf board, because a lot of you don't know how to ride these recruiting waves very well! :illinois::cool:
