If Mike Finke can show up and play during open gym, so can the other visitors. Now you and I probably couldn't, you have to be 'allowed' to participate.

Visit has been considered a success. At least flight wasn't diverted to Indy.

I always wondered about that. Does the school charter flights directly into champaign for the recruit? how does that work?

Nolley and Castleton have been rolling with the assistants for most of the morning due to BU having a speaking arrangement. BU will be back with them this afternoon for a SFC, and Campus tour.:shield:

Nolley and Castleton played AAU ball together so they are not total strangers.

I've participated in an open gym at Ubben, the most unofficial unofficial visit ever. Ended up walking on at a small D1 school, but they knew how I bleed orange and blue. So coach Price got me in. While I did get dunked on, I also knocked down a few threes [emoji6]

Brandon Paul and Meyers were there also, playing with the team, before they were enrolled. Also recall Mike Tisdale having a massive jam - something I wish we would have seen more of. Awesome experience.

I think he heard it from the hot dog vendor in the barbershop

Was it this guy? Because I can vouch for this guy -- the black shirt is the key.

It's hard to know the dynamics when multiple players visit at the same time. Fortunately, it looks like a great weekend to be visiting. I don't expect any commitments, but I'd rather have the first OV for these guys than one later. I believe a commitment from Nolley would increase our chances with every other player we're going after. For me, he's the wild card. Since Ayo doesn't have his first visit for two more weeks, I wonder what BU's strategy is to get him on campus. Does he want the last shot? Rumors or no rumors, seems like this would have been a good weekend for a visit.

If they are going to have "open gym" tomorrow at Ubben, they should let Nolley's Dad play, he played at LSU for 2 years.

Iirc the NCAA severely limits private flights. I believe you have to be "x"miles ( pretty significant) from a commercial airport to be able to fly recruits privately. Too much a us as you can see.

UofI being relatively close to Chicago, Indy, even St. Louis prevents this issue.

At least that is my recollection,

Somebody months ago mentioned Nolley as a likely commit. Never heard of him and nobody was talking about him. Doesn't seem far fetched now.

Been a roller coaster ride with all these guys, a commitment from 1 would really make things go. Still think October 1 b4 we get one.:illinois:
