I'll admit I'm questioning my feelings about Liddell coming to ILL despite no one on 247 thinking that's the case. That being said, I'm feeling really good this will happen. Unlike anything else since Ayo.

Agreed, I get my hopes up thinking that he was thinking Illinois from the start, took his first 2 visits and wasn't impressed and knew the O&B is where he wanted to be.

One thing to keep in mind that I don’t think has been discussed in awhile is the former Illini players/commits that play for mizzou now. Pickett Belleville East, Smith Edwardsville, Tilmon East Saint Louis all play for mizzou and likely bad mouthed the illini the whole weekend. Liddell comes across as pretty level headed who thinks for himself, but that’s pretty tough when 3 guys you know play together and likely have a negative view of Illinois, legitimate or not. Also Missouri has a pretty decent grip on St. Louis. The local radio programs/tv almost exclusively talk Mizzou when talking about local college sports. Just something to keep in mind because even though he lives in Illinois, Mizzou might have the perception of being the “home” school. I hate misery.
Very valid points, but that could work for us as you insinuated, but still tough to hear if it happened that way. I would bet a conversation behind the scenes happened at the very least or text etc, regarding hey what really happened. I would say though that MSmith would hold weight has he played there, the other two not so much.
I lived in Stl for awhile. It is a 50-50 place between ILL and Mizzou, I don't get the hometown Mizzou thing. I agree 100% on the amount of metro east kids playing there now. These guys are EJ's friends too. I don't think coach Underwood did anything wrong in regards to any of those 3 recruits. So it is hard for them to have sour grapes.

I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. I’ve lived in St. Louis most of my life, and I can say Mizzou has a big foot hold on this area, media and perception wise.
I don’t think Underwood did anything wrong either, but I think it’s a little naive to think they didn’t trash Illinois while he was on his visit to Missouri.

Agree. I've been pretty optimistic since he got out of Columbus and didnt commit soon afterward. Feel even better since he canceled UW and KSU and moved us up.
Campus will be about as lit as its gonna get next Friday night and I think the last visit will be his best visit and tip the scales in our favor. TSJr and Oscar are blown away too, TSJr commits but Oscar eventually winds up at WVU.

Two horse race according to a pretty biased source, but with the red carpet treatment they'll be getting next weekend, I think we have a good chance to make up ground and put us in as good of a position as the other two. The staff is certainly getting good vibes but they've overestimated their confidence in the past.

Not sure what part of the STL metro area you live in or where you get your news but to say St.Louis is 50-50 Mizzou/Illini does not remotely resemble the place I've lived all my life sans 4 years in Urbana-Champaign unfortunately.
