Also amazed that Liddell (44) is only two above Shannon (46) and Quinones (47). Six in the top fifty! Perfect set-up for a real nut kick.

I bet my about to be destroyed beach house that BU shows EJ how he made Carroll into an NBA player and not Black into a Euro player
I bet he shows how he got Carroll to improve into an NBA player and also how much Black also improved from where he was in only one year under his tutelage.

This explains recruiting quite well!

I am very biased and have watched Liddell many more times, but I honestly think EJ LIddell would be a difference maker in college. He is that good, and I prefer him from other higher (at the moment) ranked players.

Plus sticking it to Mizzou would feel even greater.
I was thinking the same thing as your last point, plus keeping him out of OSU as well. I'd be elated with either one, we have had such bad luck at center the last few years that Tshiebwe makes a lot of sense, however 2 time Mr. basketball, a difference making 4, great motor & competitor it is hard to think EJ isn't just as important...so for me keeping EJ out of both OSU & Mizzou is an easy tiebreaker.

With new Nike uniforms getting rolled out by other schools, any chance we have the 3 visitors roll them out for us this weekend?

I get and understand the Missouri hate! However, Ohio State has been killing us recently. First, they stole Evan Turner right from under our noses and he later becomes Big 10 player of the year and the no. 2 pick in the Nba draft. Then, they steal Keita Bates-diop from our own backyard...during a time they weren't even that good. He then becomes the big 10 player of the year also. Now, according to the so-called experts...they're the front runner and clear favorite for EJ Lidell, Illnois Mr. Basketball. This has got to stop! Not to mentioned, they're the only team to stop us from going undefeated in the regular season in 2005. No, our new enemy and hatred needs to focus on Ohio State! They're just having they way with us! Screw Indiana, screw Michigan, screw Missouri...we need to stop Ohio State from owing us!
OSU was 1st or 2nd for 4 straight years before KBD's freshman season

Illini will be in to visit top-50 wing Quincy Guerrier (@quincyguerrier) today. One of the best pure scorers on the wing in the class.
Took his OV to Oregon last weekend. OV in Champaign planned for Oct. 5.

That's a lot of 5 star officials...

Edit: Whoops. Thought Guerrier was a 5 star.

I still question this. Obviously all these guys have some interest in us, but how much? I guess glass half full would be, why waste an OV to Champaign, IL in sept/oct (though fall is actually a wonderful time in central Illinois....) if they weren't at least moderately interested? But it still feels like of the scheduled visits, half of them we are clearly third or forth fiddle. Once we start landing these caliber of guys I don't think theres reason to wonder if the staff is correctly utilizing their time, but that remains to be seen.

For now, I'll try to remain positive that this many high 4/5 star guys want to visit UI. Hope the staff isn't in over their heads. Time will tell.

You don't turn down a 4/5 star recruit (assuming the staff is interested in that recruit) who wants to take an OV. You just don't.

ESPECIALLY if that recruit has named you in their top 3/4/5...whatever it is.

With 3 open rides this year and only 2 "scheduled" for next year, BU and staff need to hit on 1 of 4 to not run out of OV's. At least I believe it is 24 for a 2 year period. The tough year will be trying to replace 6 players, 3 years from now. Of course, the likelihood of all 6 staying 4 years is not very much.

Another big recruiting weekend for Texas Tech men’s hoops. Terrence Shannon will take an official visit. An athletic wing/guard at IMG Academy, listed at 6-6, 185 pounds per 247Sports. Four-star (Rivals/247Sports) from Chicago, Ill. Previously committed to DePaul.

That's it, cut off all connections to Shannon. We want guys who WANT to be at Illinois, not fair-weather-recruits willing to listen to other pitches like this.
HARD PASS.
