This is big because "open recruitment" means waiting for someone else to get involved. Top 5 feels like a legit contender.
Yep not waiting to see what Kansas is doing or who is coming to Louisville. I feel like final 3 of SJ, Ill & Miami. Indiana just jumped in recently with an offer recently & hopefully Oregon is full by the time he decides. I just hope the "Puerto rico" on that jersey doesn't push him to Miami. I know that's a big part of their pitch.

And I hope his lead recruiter at Illinois is still here after this season.

Aurora, IL
Really a Final 2. Miami and ILL.

Expected him to wait to cut the list until the winter and then sign in the spring. This could mean a fall signing which will heavily play in our favor.

Hawkins, Miller and Curbelo. Sign me up. :shield:
That would be a (current) class score of 58.92 on 247's 2020 class calculator, which would've ranked 24th in the country last year and 2nd in the B1G.

(I wrote "current" because obviously these guys will all drop in rankings after they commit to Illinois.)

OA? We all hope he is here for recruiting and coaching purposes!...but he has been a proven star and is probably shooting higher than we currently are, so I guess, losing him wouldn't surprise much.

This is a big year for coaches, the players, assistants, recruits & the fan base. I hope everyone is back. Ayo is the longest of long shots.

That kinda contradicts what ill0440 is saying, isn't it?
I mean it doesn't have to do with the FBI.....No one has been named or is worried about being named. If they wanted to they could indict every division 1 basketball program.

Oh, I get that. I was commenting on the part about "OA might be to good of a recruiter for Josh." It sounds like Whitman wants no part of any grey-area recruiting (i.e., Walker's demotion comes to mind). And the other rumor about Kofi's recruitment fits in with your comment. Or am I way off-base here?
Gotcha now. You are pretty spot on. Walker wasn’t demoted because of his lack of recruiting....quite the opposite in fact.

Let's suppose for a moment what 0440 is implying is actually true. That would imply that donors are willing to do an end around on the AD, which in my mind, means that who the coach is won't actually matter.

Unless said coach did exactly what the AD wanted in this case.

Well now I am very confused. What I meant was that, if a certain assistant was to partake in grey activities requiring resources and the AD does not support such activities, then those resources came from somewhere. The only reasonable source would be donors, which then implies that donors would likely try to "help" any assistant coach partake, not just the current one(s).

I am also not sure how you can get demoted for doing exactly what the AD wants.
