Well now I am very confused. What I meant was that, if a certain assistant was to partake in grey activities requiring resources and the AD does not support such activities, then those resources came from somewhere. The only reasonable source would be donors, which then implies that donors would likely try to "help" any assistant coach partake, not just the current one(s).

I am also not sure how you can get demoted for doing exactly what the AD wants.

Maybe he meant that Underwood did exactly what Whitman wanted by demoting Walker?

I read it as him saying the donors are going to help no matter who the coaches are.....but that’s only if the coaches are willing to play the game even against the ADs wishes.

Yes, Adam likes the term "Slime"

According to the internet, "Slime is slang for homie, brother, son, and other similar terms. Slime is an acronym which stands for 'Street Life Intelligence and Money is Everything'."
Then that's good right?

Ah I see what you mean there.

Well, I am glad to see some indications that our program is no longer a mess and everyone is finally on the same page.

Sorry, but "we will win" is going to be awfully hard to do w/o playing the recruiting game. And, if I'm a coach being told by my AD that my recruiting looks good in that 150+ range, but lay off those top players - I'm out

Yes. And BU proved he could do well (SFA) once he got his type of guys using his system (O and D). IMO - This is an approach that can do well with good strong recruiting and some top 50-75 guys sprinkled in. Does it take longer to establish winning via that method - yes, but it keeps you out of jail.

Welcome back 0440!
its important to note that the AD represents the department and school at a level that there can
be no implication that he knows anything about any grey area in recruiting. so, whether he found
out about a grey area violation on his own or there was a report filed, he has no choice but to
react to what he's learned. if a demotion/change of recruiting status occurred because of that, then
our recruiting needs to be a little more stealth like. what he doesn't know hurts no one. that might
be his position as well.

Speed limit on most interstates is 70 mph....but no one drives 70.....some drive 75.....some drive 80....and then there are those that drive 85+...knowing that a small fine or warning tic is in store but they tend to get there faster

What a great analogy
