Once you've played 2 seasons, whatever you were ranked in HS doesn't really matter in my opinion. . I mean, it was clear Giorgi was way better than his ranking when he stepped on the court.

True. Sometimes a ranked player can end up being pretty rank.

I believe Darius Paul had a few off court episodes as well......seemed to be a recurring theme under John Groce
Really dislike this. Former highly rated guy who couldn't get on the floor, fouls too much and has little/no offensive game. I watched Florida quite a bit and he was just a body for them. He did nothing above average aside from eat space, a slightly more coordinated Hamlin.
None of that is great, but the play in the SEC tourney is a deal breaker for me. That was one of the dirtiest things I've seen on a basketball court, including plenty of games at less than polite playgrounds. I can't find a great reason to bring this guy in and will struggle to cheer his contributions.

Actually I think it's less dirty than AGs foot stomp at Purdue...both incidents have no place on the court.
But he carried the team on his back. I was dismayed when he left.
I’m surprised there aren’t more of these incidents . It’s an emotional , physical game . I like kids that play with passion.

I honestly don't like either. The foot stomp didn't feel as dangerous to me. I also found it to be less "heat of the moment" than AG. I was watching that game and he was getting chippier well before this. He also took one swing didn't connect as well and went back for the big shot on him, so he was searching it out to me.
Neither was good, and AG also is a guy who was tough to cheer for sometimes. I like a pest who may commit a dumb foul (DaMonte and Lucas Johnson types), not so much guys like this, Greyson Allen or the Teddy guy from Nebraska this year who are just releasing frustration in a dangerous way.

According to Rees Woodcock UI has the best non ranked and 3 star recruits anywhere.
Is there a pattern with him or was it a one-time incident? That is the key for me. The coaches determined that it wasn’t a pattern and liked the fit.

If Illinois is able to get Armaan Franklin overall it will be a net gain. You're basically getting a junior Adam Miller a year sooner than you should.

Franklin would be a huge pickup. He is a great shooter and can get his own shot. He would help fill the end of shot clock and end of game shotmaker gap that Ayo leaves. His game winner against Iowa was a good example.

I just watched the video of it. Looked chippy, yes, but also like he was just trying to get the guy off of him and it went a little too far. Not really concerned about it at all.
I'm more concerned about PPG and rebounds both just under 4.0 for a top 50 rated sophomore. We'll see, I guess.

Really happy I’m not the only person who saw it this way. I saw it for the first time like 10 minutes ago and didn’t walk away as disgusted as I thought i would based on what I read.
