The real question is why didn't he go straight to the NBA?
I heard they're putting up a statue of him outside SFC.
Why so much shade being tossed at Austin Hutcherson? Let’s see what he can do if/when healthy.

I think it’s not shade or for that matter anything tossed at AH. More sarcasm of how so many have been projecting him as the next coming of MJ, which is a longtime tradition around here for players who transfer and sit out or are injured. Why so much shade being tossed at Austin Hutcherson? We are leaving NO stone unturned!
Should’ve left this joke in the rough.Diamond Stone is in the portal?!?/s
The team won’t be the same as they were during those few games that Ayo was out. No Trent no monte most likely no ace and who knows with kofi. We’ll see what happens but I really wished all of those guys came back as I also really liked what I saw especially vs Michigan.I love Ayo, but I really liked how we looked the few games he was out. Seemed to be more in sync as a group. If Kofi and Trent stay and Miller comes back, there would be a great mix with the new kids.. jmo
Time to move on. Next class up. They repped the uni well, and future guys will do the same. No sleep lostThe team won’t be the same as they were during those few games that Ayo was out. Just to be clear, the recent stress fracture is apparently something new, unrelated to past injuries. It seems he had three healthy years in college -- two in D-3, one sit out year at UI.word was had the talent was there, but physical problems with the back held him back.
Sorry to be repetitive. The two herniated discs he suffered as a result of car accident before his sophomore year in high school were not the same as the more recent stress fracture. Two different injuries 6 years apart. Both have reportedly fully healed. He also suffered a broken jaw and broken wrist hi3 junior year in high school. Unless we believe in bad luck, there is no reason to believe he will not be healthy.Pretty sure the guy isn't claiming to guarantee that AH won't be healthy. AH was a d3 guy because of his back injury history. He had a full year of practice with us dealing with the back problem and then had to sit this past year. I don't think it is exactly a hot take to assume he won't ever full be a fully healthy contributor.
The videos he has posted looked great. Obviously, he played his freshman and sophomore year of college and did pretty well. Seems to me like him being healthy is no sure bet.
Bill Walton will be calling you shortly.Sorry to be repetitive. Just FWIW you never fully recover from a herniated disc. That means there's a rupture in the disc that allows nucleus pulposus (jelly-like substance) to escape the disc, which can impact a part of the spinal nerve and cause pain. The pulposes can be re-absorbed over time, which will end the symptoms, but the tear in the disc will remain and be susceptible to re-injury. Alternatively through surgery the pulposus which has leaked out can be removed. Either way, there's a decent chance his disc herniation will become symptomatic again at some point in his life. Hope it doesn't though and if it does, not for a very long time. Back injuries are the worst.Just to be clear, the recent stress fracture is apparently something new, unrelated to past injuries. He had two unfortunate injuries that deterred him from competing and fully developing his game in high school. The first was a back injury -- two herniated discs -- from an auto accident (not his fault). He recovered from that. Then he was undercut in a scrimmage, resulting in broken wrist and jaw. He recovered from both injuries and played two years of D-3 ball.
We'll be lucky if just one of those things happen.I love Ayo, but I really liked how we looked the few games he was out. Seemed to be more in sync as a group. If Kofi and Trent stay and Miller comes back, there would be a great mix with the new kids.. jmo
Nick Anderson. I will just keep saying thisStorr with 29 & 9 today. Not too shabby.
Physique and athleticism, for sure. Overall hoops skills and toughness? Too soon to tell, but, man oh man, that would be flippin' great.Nick Anderson. I will just keep saying this
He’s a man already. Crazy he most likely has a year of HS left.Physique and athleticism, for sure. Overall hoops skills and toughness? Too soon to tell, but, man oh man, that would be flippin' great.
Reminds me of the legend of Alex Legion based on his practices.I think it’s not shade or for that matter anything tossed at AH. Some wishful thinking on my part... but you never know!Physique and athleticism, for sure. Overall hoops skills and toughness? Too soon to tell, but, man oh man, that would be flippin' great.
Kid grew from 6-2 to 6-6 since high school, has demonstrably the best shot release and best vertical on the team, overcame three unrelated injuries, has world class training, seems like a nice prospect; but can't be any good because (a) D-3 transfer, (b) Aaron Cosby and Alex Legion once let us down. Why so much shade being tossed at Austin Hutcherson?
