Garcia + Kofi with Payne + Hawkins backing them up would be a nightmare for opponents. With Curbelo running the show, and shooters like Frazier, Williams, and Plummer out on the line, and glue guys like Grandison and Hutcherson helping on the glass and on defense with their length. That's a national title contender all day long. And it doesn't factor in the unknown potential contributions from a strong freshman class. That team is better than the 2020-21 Illini. I have no reservations making that claim. It is undeniable as far as I'm concerned.

I assume our writers would prefer the kid gets to announce it since they will build a relationship over time. Writers for other schools don't care about the relationship anymore and go for crystal ball cred instead.
