Oweh would eat him up. Duke wimp vs. man. Scheyer can teach him how to drag his pivot foot for 12 feet and not get called for traveling.

You're trolling, right?

If not, maybe a quick evaluation of how you handle being let down would be healthy. Going after teenagers deciding what's best for their future is not only a bad look, but unhealthy.

If you need a chat, I'm here to listen. We can be disappointed and want the best for a kid and their future. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Best of luck to Schutt. This one just doesn't bother me. Of course part is that it seemed we didn't have much of a chance. But I also put him many steps below Scheyer. That could change over the course of his senior year. But Scheyer, as much as you want to hate him, was a game changer on the floor in high school and in college. He had something special that not many have.

Of course, I have no idea how Scheyer is going to adjust to the new gig. I kinda expect him to fail like his fellow alums.

Wanted to get him, but seemed redundant with Podz and Goode already here. We need some Bigs.

Completely different players. In some ways I like Schutt better. Beautiful jump shot with a super quick release that you don't often see with HS players. And he's a way better athlete than Scheyer. Yes, better at Duke than at MSU.

Who woulda thunk we would lose out on a guy from Yorkville Christian to Duke. With the shock that as Duke would be in on a guy from Yorkville Christian. It’s tough losing a local guy like that, but good for him.

No, the worst ever look was losing a recruit who was being coached in high school by the brother of the Illinois head coach. And guess who that was?

Schutt to Duke makes a lot of sense, so I'm not surprised. Duke has had a lot of success with guys just like Schutt. Probably a pretty easy sell for Scheyer.

Scheyer was a huge Chris Collins fan. He was always going to Duke.
A great recruiter has a kid walk on campus prioritizing one thing and walk off prioritizing what's best for the program.

Weber was a mid-major recruiter who did not take advantage of the great situation he was in during his time here. Illinois made the wrong hire and the fact that that has long term consequences shouldn't be surprising.

Sounds like Corhen is officially visiting FSU and LSU. Not a big fan of that...
I think Corhen is really key to this class - the soft touch big man that can extend out to the three point line is so hard to stop in college- plus he’s not the athlete the NBA covets so he’s likely in college for a while- he would complement Payne really well next year

Yep. Time to move on.

You're 100% right, Weber didn't have the requisite recruiting chops. That said, no one could've gotten Scheyer to play for Illinois.

Its been a crazy rise for Schutt. They don't even have 100 students at the school and yet they have a top 50 basketball player there.

Villanova is geographically pretty close to where Whitmore is from right? Only a couple hours drive it looks like? Successful program he's probably very familiar with. Hope we win out but they're tough competition (which is to be expected, as good as Whitmore looks to be)
Jay Wright is certainly on the short list of best coaches in America. I'm hopeful the staff can pull the rabbit out of the hat on this one, but it wouldn't be any sort of indictment of the staff to lose a prospect to a college in his area that has had the kind of success Villanova has enjoyed in the last decade.
