No, that would be the same as wishing for UK to have a good year. I think it's hilarious that last year's team could be so completely overloaded with 5-star recruits and stink as bad as they did. I wouldn't mind seeing a repeat of that.
That's what happens when you focus on 5 star athletes and disregard need for "shooters"....Herro was the lowest ranked of the KY guard recruits in 18 but was their best shooter among them (Hagan, Johnson and Quickley other 3 KY guard recruits ahead of him that year)...

That said, KY will not succeed without balancing the top 10 "athlete" recruits with shooters.

That is why I am pumped about our 21 class....we have great freshmen shooters on the roster.

It does if you want to know why he didn't pick us.
It's a cop out. When the recruit listens to his parents and picks another school, "it wasn't his choice." But when the recruit ignores his family who favors the Illini and picks someone else, we find other problems with said decision (see e.g. Bryce Hopkins). There's nothing wrong or sinister about a kid listening to his parents when making a major life decision.

It's the pretty clear implication any time someone posts that a recruit's school choice was "not his choice"
then your beef is with those guys. Just to be clear, I think it's ridiculous to expect an 18 yo kid to be making a monumental decision in a vacuum. More importantly, it's completely inadvisable too.

If I were a player of his skill set and had no loyalty to any college program I would choose FSU as well. Their recent history of putting players with his skills into the NBA is very impressive. Next up. We will find someone.
Pretty much this. Corhen doesn't have the physical gifts of Patrick Williams, etc. I'll be surprised if Corhen isn't a 4 year player. Definitely biased, but believe he would've been better served choosing us. As you say, next up.

Zooming out a bit, I think the typical complaint comment "wasn't his choice" implies (to me, at least) that parents or handlers had an overriding influence that caused a poor decision (for them, but obviously framed from fan perspectives in many cases). I don't think anyone is really expecting decisions made "in a vaccuum" but rather "with advice from trusted people in their circle who have their best interests in mind".

Corhen has nowhere near the skills or gifts of the guys FSU has sent to the draft in recent years. Barnes and Williams were in a different league and were NBA bound regardless of where they spent time in college. If his camp doesn’t see that, it only hurts him in the long run.

Corhen wanted to come here. Told multiple people within the program that he was coming.

However, his Dad has always liked FSU. He told Cam they needed to explore all their options so they took the FSU visit. Hamilton sold his Dad on him becoming the next FSU draft pick. If you don't jump on board now, then we will go get someone else. Cam was told this is what's best for you and you need to go here.

That's all there is to it.

Any chance he won't sign in early period and see how teams play before reconsidering, or is dad that locked in?
