I have to think we're all in on AJ Casey now. I don't know that we're close on signing anyone at Corhen's position (C) in the near future, but that can always change quickly. I'm disappointed with how things look on targets we thought we were likely to land (Corhen, Oweh, and to a lesser degree, Whitmore), but I'm sure the staff will make some good moves in the coming weeks. If we don't find a big to replace Kofi in this recruiting cycle, I'm sure we'll have a good chance to land a solid transfer in the offseason. After the disappointing last 2 weeks, we need some fresh names to get excited about. Who are our top targets now?
With Payne and Hawk we will still have two solid bigs for next year and possibles in BBV and Lieb. Doesn’t feel as critical as this year when we thought we were losing Kofi and Giorgi.Updated scholarship grid.

I'd bet my fiancés parent's beach house that he'll be back. Hard to improve your stock that much between your junior and senior year and even if he makes 500k this year that's more than he would make anywhere except for the NBA. Even if he's a projected late second round pick it might be a smart business move to stay in college to avoid missing out on a guaranteed contractTbh, I think our best recruiting strategy at this point is to make Kofi an NIL millionaire in the hopes he comes back for his senior season.

I can only imagine that if he were to return due to what he made with NIL, that he would want to stay with the sure money. But who knows, at the end of the year, everybody else may know what he made and say "we can do better for you here."Can he still go to the portal if he likes his NIL chances? Glad he returned, but he was a hot commodity this off-season, and if he returns, he'll be a hot commodity again.
Particularly savvy if those local businesses directly benefit from on court/on field success. E.g. if we just started drawing full capacity for every bb and fb game, plenty of local businesses (hospitality, dining, retail) would reap the benefit and have increased interest and increased dollars to put toward sustaining it. Then it becomes a force multiplier for those who are capitalizing, while others chase. We should expect NIL strategies to become more sophisticated very quickly. If I’m a wealthy booster, best believe I am pooling funds with my fellow boosters to buy up local businesses that can be used to funnel marketing dollars to NIL agreements, etc. Hope we can keep up.
Why would you need to buy up a local business when you could just create a new shell company for pennies on the dollar? We should expect NIL strategies to become more sophisticated very quickly. You gotta go at least 2 on 2. You can't have the true Curbelo experience without any assists! All I want to know is how much it would cost to have Curbelo come to my house and play 1 on 1 for an hour or two.
He did harm to 2 19 year olds that came off the bench and both got drafted 4th overall in consecutive years? All do respect to Corhen he’s not Pat Williams, Scottie Barnes or Devin Vassel or some of the others. I would argue Hamilton did more harm for Barnes and Williams than anything. I’m just not convinced he develops players but he will always have the high draft pick argument.
Williams showed more in one game with the Bulls than he did at FSU. Everyone saw it as a shock he was drafted at 4 because he didn’t show those skills at FSU. Scouts were stunned by the individual workouts for both guys.He did harm to 2 19 year olds that came off the bench and both got drafted 4th overall in consecutive years?
That's fair, then I guess it just depends on how you look at it. He brought in two freshmen and got they both got drafted in the top 5. If the argument is getting kids to the league then that's about as good a job as one could possibly do. If the argument is they weren't properly utilized at FSU, that's fine. Clearly he didn't do them harm but not utilizing them properly when the end result is getting drafted 4th overallWilliams showed more in one game with the Bulls than he did at FSU. Vassell was the #200 recruit in his class per 247. Two years later pick #11 in NBA draft. On what basis do you think he wasn't developed at all in his two years at FSU?All do respect to Corhen he’s not Pat Williams, Scottie Barnes or Devin Vassel or some of the others. By your logic Tom Crean made Anthony Edwards the number 1 draft pick.He did harm to 2 19 year olds that came off the bench and both got drafted 4th overall in consecutive years?
Lol Barnes is the closest to Edwards being that he was in the top 10 out of school (Edwards was #2, Barnes 7), Williams was ranked 26th and as others have noted Vassel was ranked 200th so that argument doesn't really work for meBy your logic Tom Crean made Anthony Edwards the number 1 draft pick.
Certainly didn't do him any harm, lolBy your logic Tom Crean made Anthony Edwards the number 1 draft pick.
I’d argue he 100% stunted his growth and developed bad habits. Edwards looked horrible early on in the NBA season and by the end he looked like a completely different player.Certainly didn't do him any harm, lol
Almost like he was a rookie or something...I’d argue he 100% stunted his growth and developed bad habits. Edwards looked horrible early on in the NBA season and by the end he looked like a completely different player.
Exactly. Don't think Hamilton is leaning on Barnes in recruiting guys like Corhen. Vassell is the real selling point here. By no means was he considered an NBA prospect before he came to FSU. Just look at this offer sheet:Lol Barnes is the closest to Edwards being that he was in the top 10 out of school (Edwards was #2, Barnes 7), Williams was ranked 26th and as others have noted Vassel was ranked 200th so that argument doesn't really work for me
