In the real world of today where he is a player for the bulls what is he bringing in?In the hypothetical world I wonder what Ayo could have made last year. I would think someone like him could get some deals in the Chicago area.

Validated and approved by the athletic dept from what I was told. I heard an interview of the guy setting it up. He not a marketing guy for sure. I believe it was on WDWS, but I’m not 100%. I certainly would think they would vet before putting him on the air. Maybe some inside guys can verify.
Edit: It was on Illiniguys.com. Creg McDonally is the guy behind setting it up. Real Estate guy from CU.
Also, you know how much BS I get in my inbox daily? The last thing I need is a Kofi newsletter even though I love the guy.You don’t need an “inside guy” to tell you there’s no way that website is legitimate. You really think Kofi is concerned about $10/month for him to send you a private email once a month?
Nobody thought Kofi would lean down and be as athletic as he is either, but don't know much about him, think I saw something about him on another site....interesting.Looks like he is more skilled than Kofi at the same age. Moves decently well but not near the athlete Kofi is, but who is at that size?
Think he could be a reasonable facsimile of Kofi or some sort of mash up of Kofi and Giorgi which wouldn’t be bad. But I was kind of hoping after Kofi we would pivot more towards rim runners and stretch 5s that would allow us to play even more uptempo. Basically a Cohren type.
Bummed we missed on him but should be able to find someone similar in HS or through the portal. Will feel better after we land another big but think we will be okay.
Perhaps not today, but he certainly seemed so back in May.You don’t need an “inside guy” to tell you there’s no way that website is legitimate. You really think Kofi is concerned about $10/month for him to send you a private email once a month?
and one decent coach and staff in about that timeline....If I'm a big I 100/100 times go to FSU over Illinois, I wouldn't even think twice about it. Way too much money on the line to put things to chance, Hamilton has the track record. We have one 2nd rounder in nearly a decade who also took 3 years to get to that point.
I believe a 2 mil contract, he is a prolly a player for the Windy City Bulls??? this season, is that the CBA or whatever? If he is rostered as a Bull guessing he would make several 5 K appearances. In the real world of today where he is a player for the bulls what is he bringing in?
one thousand emails becomes....10 K, right, or 120 k or a pretty good bonus stipend....and now that a handful of major players have worked something out...this could be the gravy....for the biscuits, ya know'You don’t need an “inside guy” to tell you there’s no way that website is legitimate. That site seemed sketchy af when I first saw it. The vultures are circling college sports. You don’t need an “inside guy” to tell you there’s no way that website is legitimate. You really think Kofi is concerned about $10/month for him to send you a private email once a month?
I would imagine that would be because there are WAY MORE guards and wings available.…It's a little disappointing we keep ending up here when it comes to finding bigs, when we have no problem recruiting more highly touted guard and wing prep prospects.
Can someone help me? My quadruple 'like' button isn't workingAnd Ayo's dad and Luka's dad got along really well, they were always chatting it up before games. Cool to see
The most hateable Hawkeye is, without question, 30 year old Jordan Bohannon. Followed closely by the entire McCaffrey fam

I mean, sure, centers are always harder to find than shooting guards, I get that. But I didn't even specify centers, much less 7-footers, but "bigs," which to me includes the 4 as well. And I looked at the 247 rankings just to see how rare bigs are. If recruits were evenly spaced among the five spots you'd expect to see 20 Cs and 20 PFs in the top 100. For 2022 there are 16 Cs and 19 PFs. So yes, bigs are a little harder to find than guards or wings. But I don't think it's drastic enough that we can only expect to land one top 100 recruit in those positions every 5 years, while landing numerous such recruits for other roles.I would imagine that would be because there are WAY MORE guards and wings available.
I mean WAY MORE.
how many 7-footers are there even available? Compare that with how many 6’5” - 6’9” guys are even out there?
This is almost a "must win" at this pointTim Anderson has us in the thick of this one.
I've seen rumors that he might want to get out of the state. If that's the case looks to be a Bama, Illinois, Xavier battle. Would be a really impressive late swoop after missing on Whitmore. Almost what a lot of other teams seem to be able to do to us.Tim Anderson has us in the thick of this one.
Would think UM would be tough to beat, but presumably they are going to land Jett Howard who plays the same position and is similarly ranked. Not sure I would want to compete against the coaches kid for minutes.Tim Anderson has us in the thick of this one.
He is scheduled to take an OV to Bama end of October. After this weekend we will have over a month to convince him to cancel it. Who knows how it will play outWould think UM would be tough to beat, but presumably they are going to land Jett Howard who plays the same position and is similarly ranked. Is Bama realistic? MSU?
Narrator: it is not. This is almost a "must win" at this point
So, what does it take to see the Illini on getting on the right track like Hamilton? Or will we always be in that 3-10 year rut with minimal results? If I'm a big I 100/100 times go to FSU over Illinois, I wouldn't even think twice about it. I don't think we have any issues currently recruiting, we just aren't going to have a line of guys at the door like Hamilton does with bigs. We need to start getting guys no one expects pre-season to the NBA every season, and in the first round as well. This all said, what we are doing is great for sustained success, since most guys are going to stick with us 3-4 years, old teams win games. So, what does it take to see the Illini on getting on the right track like Hamilton? Agree. I think we are recruiting right in the sweet spot to win a lot of games, a la Nova or Baylor. Ie guys with pro potential but are most likely 3-4 year players.I don't think we have any issues currently recruiting, we just aren't going to have a line of guys at the door like Hamilton does with bigs. I get what you’re saying and I think we’ve been recruiting just fine, but recruiting “sweet spot” is carrying it too far in my opinion. Adding Corhen and Whitmore to our current commits would be the sweet spot. I wouldn’t call having to resort to plan Bs or Cs or beyond the sweet spot. Not that we can’t be successful with that when you also hit on a plan A or two, but don’t think we need to resort to rationalizations.Agree. I realize NBA success helps with recruiting and I wish our guys nothing but success, but I’m not outside of a recruiting bump I’m not terribly worried about nba success. I’m perfectly able to enjoy the heck out of watching Kofi dominate for us while also realizing he may not quite be a fit in the modern NBA.
Agree with what you are saying. I was more referring to Ayo, Kofi, Belo, and I know we didn’t keep him, but Ace as well. Cohren and Whitmore would have fit perfectly and let’s not forget we have 2 top 100s already on board.I get what you’re saying and I think we’ve been recruiting just fine, but recruiting “sweet spot” is carrying it too far in my opinion.
