Sure it's a big loss. Whenever you lose out on a top 15 kid that you were in the mix with, it's a big loss. It's sour grapes to say it isn't. To your point however, recruiting is an ongoing effort and Underwood will get his guys.No big loss. If he thinks he can get the money he thinks he deserves there, have at it. Brad will find players to win for him.
This is a valid thought but in today's world there is very little need to stress over classes 1+ year(s) away from getting to campus. For all we know we could add multiple guards with more than one year of eligibility left this spring. Projecting "needs" for classes years out has become entirely redundant because of this. The only time we should truly be worrying about a specific roster is in about June before that specific season. Not sure how I feel about the shift from "we might end up with two of Fears, Boswell and Aimes" to "we passed on Fears because we have a strong preference for Boswell and Aimes" to "we passed on Fears, missed on Boswell, and now we may also pass on Aimes." Especially in a season where we did struggle from lack of point guard skills when Curbelo was out.
Hmm, who is the shortest guy on our staff?wee will see.
I am sure Brad's brother was his High School coach.
Ooh, ooh! I know this one…I am thinking you might have a tenuous grasp on the definition of "rhyme."
Questioning the AD about about much he was willing to spend on a recruit. Your thought process is correct. Just never occurred to me that the NCAA and recruiting would ever get to the point, where this is an above the table discussion. It really is sad.I really hope this wasn’t Josh not willing to spend to get him. That’s the kind of thing that pushes elite coaches away.
Meh. I’m ok with it. They’re making so much money for the schools. It feels more honest the way it is now. Imo.Questioning the AD about about much he was willing to spend on a recruit. Sure, but isn't the thought process around "we have Curbelo, Epps, and can transfer in someone too" a very similar kind of projecting? For all we know, some of those guys we have on the roster could transfer out before Aimes sets foot on campus. That's kinda why I feel if we like Aimes, why not try and bring him in? I feel like what you're saying is "recruit the best possible players and address needs through the portal." Which makes sense. But I feel like that's an argument in favor of taking Aimes, not against. This is a valid thought but in today's world there is very little need to stress over classes 1+ year(s) away from getting to campus. Next step: coaches plucking their 5-stars from ebay…Questioning the AD about about much he was willing to spend on a recruit. Your thought process is correct. Good thing Whitman has an one locked up already. And if there is one thing Whitman has showed, its that he isn’t afraid to spend $$$.I really hope this wasn’t Josh not willing to spend to get him. That’s the kind of thing that pushes elite coaches away.
I'll tell you what you can tenuously grasp.
Is that guard good though? What would you expect if his parents had moved out west. Move on to the next one. There has to be a point guard from Chicago that wants to play for the state school.
That was one of the worst kept secrets I've seen in a long time for a top recruit given it was announced a week ahead of time that he would be announcing his choice through a randomn NBA analyst that was a former Arizona player (walk on), it was certainly the least suspenseful way to announceKYLAN BOSWELL CHOOSES ARIZONA
