No surprise. The Boswells moved out west for a reason. IMO moving back here would be moving backwards in their eyes. This one stings tho. U of A is in their 1st season with a new coach and could pull it off but Brad couldn't? Damn

No big loss. If he thinks he can get the money he thinks he deserves there, have at it. Brad will find players to win for him.
Sure it's a big loss. Whenever you lose out on a top 15 kid that you were in the mix with, it's a big loss. It's sour grapes to say it isn't. To your point however, recruiting is an ongoing effort and Underwood will get his guys.

Not sure how I feel about the shift from "we might end up with two of Fears, Boswell and Aimes" to "we passed on Fears because we have a strong preference for Boswell and Aimes" to "we passed on Fears, missed on Boswell, and now we may also pass on Aimes." Especially in a season where we did struggle from lack of point guard skills when Curbelo was out.
This is a valid thought but in today's world there is very little need to stress over classes 1+ year(s) away from getting to campus. For all we know we could add multiple guards with more than one year of eligibility left this spring. Projecting "needs" for classes years out has become entirely redundant because of this. The only time we should truly be worrying about a specific roster is in about June before that specific season.

I am thinking you might have a tenuous grasp on the definition of "rhyme."
Ooh, ooh! I know this one…
Approximate or slant rhyme pairs words whose sounds noticeably relate to one another.

I really hope this wasn’t Josh not willing to spend to get him. That’s the kind of thing that pushes elite coaches away.
Questioning the AD about about much he was willing to spend on a recruit. Your thought process is correct. Just never occurred to me that the NCAA and recruiting would ever get to the point, where this is an above the table discussion. It really is sad.

Meh. I’m ok with it. They’re making so much money for the schools. It feels more honest the way it is now. Imo.

Sure, but isn't the thought process around "we have Curbelo, Epps, and can transfer in someone too" a very similar kind of projecting? For all we know, some of those guys we have on the roster could transfer out before Aimes sets foot on campus. That's kinda why I feel if we like Aimes, why not try and bring him in? I feel like what you're saying is "recruit the best possible players and address needs through the portal." Which makes sense. But I feel like that's an argument in favor of taking Aimes, not against.

Next step: coaches plucking their 5-stars from ebay…

Would have been a great get, but I think the last 2-3 years have taught us lack of size can cause matchup problems.

I like the direction we are going with more length at the guard/wing spot. Already we are bringing in a shorter guard in Epps, who can hopefully play a little bigger as he’s physically strong. But I don’t think we want to have more than 1-2 of those guys playing key roles at any given time, otherwise we are susceptible to the AZs, OSUs, and even the Maryland’s that have big, athletic wings.

Would take Ames in a heartbeat. Otherwise give me a top100ish 6’4-6’5 PG who will stick around 3-4 years. I like the roster Underwood is building and while we may drop off a bit next year, I think we are in a place where we will be in and around the top 25 consistently for years to come.

What would you expect if his parents had moved out west. Move on to the next one. There has to be a point guard from Chicago that wants to play for the state school.
Is that guard good though?

Also recruiting is less regional now than it was even a decade ago. The only continued benefit is if they grow up an illinois fan.

I'd personally take a 5 star out of Ankorage than a 3 star from Chicago.

KYLAN BOSWELL CHOOSES ARIZONA
That was one of the worst kept secrets I've seen in a long time for a top recruit given it was announced a week ahead of time that he would be announcing his choice through a randomn NBA analyst that was a former Arizona player (walk on), it was certainly the least suspenseful way to announce

So be it - on to the next one
