We know the timeline on his decision: Mid-May.

We've had lineups this year of plummer fraizer and belo--not a ton but it has happened. Heck dmw is 6 3 and was our primary "4" for a decent chunk of time last year (and even some this year).

Even if Skyy wants the ball in his hands he'll easily be the backup PG for 10+ mins a game and get as much as he can handle off ball.

Comical some are worried about this, Trent ayo and Belo all coexhisted last year, Belo and Skyy can next year.

At 6'3", you are far less likely to make the NBA as a SG. Anyone under 6'5"-6'6" really wants the ball in their hands. See Adam Miller.
Don't see why he wouldn't be able to have the ball in his hands here. Ayo/Trent/Feliz shared the ball a bunch, then Ayo/Trent/Belo, and even the 4th options have had opportunities to initiate offense (whether or not they do so well is another question). It's not like Belo is James Harden or LeBron and is the sole orchestrator of the offense. With the backcourt losses we'll have, I don't think it'd be hard to convince Skyy he could come fill the Ayo role. And, fwiw, Ayo won the Bob Cousy award despite not technically being our PG in the traditional sense.

Re: height and SGs, I think that was much more the case a decade or so ago. As far as physical attributes are concerned, I'd say wingspan is more important these days than 2-3" of height, along with explosiveness. Donovan Mitchell and CJ McCollum are both top 5ish SGs at 6'3", and we've seen multiple 6'3" or 6'4" SG/CGs be high draft picks over the last few years. Just had Jalen Green, James Bouknight, Josh Primo, Cam Thomas, Josh Christopher, etc. all in that ballpark height get drafted in the first round last year.

Never said he wouldn't. I was responding to someone saying why would he want to play PG when he's a scorer.

I've always said. I'm good with 3 PGs starting. I want everyone to be able to run the offense except the C.

Believe right now we are at our scholarship max, assuming both Kofi and Jake leave. Not going to speculate on potential transfers and these things do tend to sort themselves out, just saying will need some pretty significant roster turnover if we get Skyy + Kofi and Jake return.

Kofi, Hutch, and Grandison all are eligible to return, with 1 “open” scholarship between those three. Obviously there’s always 1 or 2 surprise transfers, but things are going to be tight regardless.

Agreed but idk how a lineup with both Curbelo and Skyy would work.
I guess this is horse before the cart a little bit but am I the only one seeing his freshman year will basically be a rehab year? In that sense, he might fit perfectly with Curbelo.

Do we know this is about Skyy? And if so, what does it mean? He's *leaning* our way? Or he's told the staff he's coming? Is there an actual timeline on his decision? ("That and many more questions to be answered on the next episode of ... Soap!")
Has he even visited?

this assumes Belo plays like he is capable of.

Let’s not assume belo will be 100% what we expect. Depth is always helpful, no matter what age. Now I’m not in favor of guarantees, but no reason he can’t earn the primary ball handling responsibilities. Honestly, running 2 PGs sounds really nice at times this year when we couldn’t break through on some presses. Might help run an offense, especially if Kofi is gone and we become a lot of drive and kick offense and high ball pressure defense. Give me a lineup with Skyy and Belo in the backcourt and I think BU would be a happy man.

2 PGs? Heck at the end of last year our best lineup had 3 on the court. (Ayo, Trent, & AC)

Quality PG play is essential to have success. I don't think there is such a thing as too many. Look at Kentucky last year. You can have multiple NBA talents, but if no one is running the show, its going to be hard to win close games.

Might be such a thing as not enough minutes, but if a dude can really play, he will get minutes.

I don't even see where we have made an offer previously, but that may be because we knew he was a hard UK lean. I'm not sure he has even been released from his signed commitment yet... It's only been a few days.
he committed to Kentucky over a year ago. Anderson wasn't on staff and we probably didn't have much connection to him at that time. Were looking at other prospects.

Question: is the extra covid-created scholarship spot(s) no longer applicable after this year? ie, we've had 15 spots as opposed to the traditional 13. If Grandy uses his extra year of eligibility, will he count against the 13 spots or would he be able to occupy a "14th" scholarship spot?

He's already back from the injury. He should be full speed well before the season starts.

Still think he'll be too talented to not start along side Belo and that it'll be a non issue that both of them play together.

The covid scholarships were for seniors last year to use. Everyone got a freebie for eligibility purposes (6 years to play 5 essentially instead of 5 to play 4), but juniors and underclassmens scholarships count against the cap next year and for all future years.

Grandy (and/or Hutch) will count against the 13 spots. There are no more "bonus" COVID spots, only additional COVID eligibility.
