Wouldn't this line of reasoning say that the fans had no influence on Mark Turgeon leaving Maryland?
DO you actually think that BU or any coach would resign because fans are butt hurt over something about the team, wins/losses, playing time, whatever. No group of fans, and their opinions, has ever weighed into a coaches decision to resign.

That surprises me. Belo seems like a good kid. Wonder what he did off the court. Sad the concussion seems to have played a part?

One of the things that basketball does is expose and display on the court one’s basic personality (from Real Life).

Alphas in Life become Alphas on the court. Those more comfortable in the background become good role players happy to let others lead.

Some (and play) live afraid to make a mistake. Others take their mistakes in stride and just keep on doing their thing.

Some guys are conservative. Some are risk takers.

Only those closest to Belo know the kind of guy he really is. But if you can draw any conclusions from his court play and work backwards... then he is a showman and isn’t afraid to push limits. If true, how this impacts his life only he and those closest to him know.

What is clear is that he has a special gift for talent and flair. And if he can learn to channel these in the right direction, then there is no limit to what he can accomplish on the court... and in his Life.

There is no true Illini fan who doesn’t want to see Belo succeed and get past his challenges whatever they might be. Whether it is with the Illini or elsewhere... we wish him the best on his personal journey and we thank him for what he’s already given to the Illini program.

Coach has said it. Guys like Belo don't come along every day.

Turgeon was getting loudly boo’d every time they announced him before games. Fans had been talking crap about him for YEARS. Normally I agree with you but in this case it did play a little role in Marks decision.

It definitely adds to the mountain of stress.

His ball handling leads to some very nice highlights for sure. And I also want to reinforce that in no way is skyy a bad player. There is a reason he has his choice to play at almost any school in the country next year. I just believe there are tiers when it comes to 5 star guys and he is in that bottom tier where it might take a year or 2 before he really excels in college.
He has been ranked as high as number 10 a year ago and now number 27 in the composite so I think what you say makes some sense. 247 currently shows him as a 4*.

Mark Few would disagree with you. He's close friends with Turgeon.

Can someone give a good scouting report of TSJ? He’s the #1 ranked transfer right now according to BPR, ideal fit as a modern day 4 with good shooting ability, is a good athlete and played on a strong defensive team. He also didn’t seem to rebound well this year and I am not sure how good he is at creating his own shot. Would appreciate if someone could give a better view of what he brings to the table.

Agreed. Know guys that played with him at Kansas from playing against them now that we are old and broken down. This is the one case where it did play a factor.
