Anyone have any real sense of the NIL numbers? I haven’t seen anything on this site. I’ve also spoken with a few seriously informed people. Either no one knows or no one is willing to discuss it.
I believe one of our insiders suggested Kofi made more than he could abroad or G League, and if I interpreted correctly, even more than Ayo's NBA salary ($925k) this season.

While that feels hard to believe since there has not been any widely publicized big deals, if it’s true he’s already making a million a year, plus presumably gets housing and food covered which he would get from the university even pre-NIL, and university health insurance and all the gear and training support, PLUS a degree…. How do you not stay and milk it as long as you can?

Washington State
don't think the Illini will be after him, but I just saw Parker Stewart from IU in the portal

Kofi if he comes back is our lone senior
Coleman Hawkins is our lone junior
Talk about getting young fast

We will be a very different team than this year. I am excited.

I want to see Illinois fast break, drive to the hoop, press. Bring back the Flying Illini!

Crazy times - last year we lost all of our assistant coaches, this year we have all our starters graduate or go to NBA
BU lost a lot of games trying to play this way.

You forgot to mention the Coeds that are in a rather concentrated area 😉

I am confident that Kofi will not be the lone senior on the roster. As for Hawkins…fairly confident he will not be the lone junior either.

If Kofi comes back another year (his 4th) he has chance to be all time leader. If he takes us to Final Four - he will move into Kendall Gill, Dee Brown territory

Scoring Deon Thomas 2,129 - Kofi at 1,546 after 3 years (413, 548, 585) this will be close
Rebounds Augustine 1,023 - Kofi at 861 after 3 years this is likely

Better than last week. But just depends
IMO, CoHawk potentially leaving versus staying impacts next years team more than the unfortunate loss of AC.
With current freshman and incoming class, we are loaded with guards and wings. We can pick up an experienced PG that may not have AC skills, but perhaps one that brings a better “team flow”. Replacing CH, who has such a high ceiling seems to be much more difficult. Just my opinion.
Side note, before the haters hate…..I loved having AC on this team. Wish him nothing but the best. Seems to be a class act.

Can you imagine playing pickup at IMPE with Kofi

I played vs Anthony Welch and Quinn Richardson. Welch just hung around outside shooting jumpers but Quinn was dominating. This was when he could not get off the bench.
I played against Stan Simpson at IMPE... not the same

As of now, next year’s team has three guards - two FR and one Soph who played little this past year. We really really need guards at this point. We’re anything but “loaded with guards.” Quite the opposite.
