Do people not like Ant Wright for some reason? I've seen a few of his breakdown videos, and he does a nice job. Pretty sure he's said nice things about our commits.
He low key tries to ruffle feathers a bit or borderline mildly troll but would never admit it if called out on it.
Basically what Idea Gardener (great name) said: he behaves like a really good, general basketball analyst 90% of the time but then will occasionally troll Illini fans. Seems to be in part b/c we're possibly the easiest fanbase to get a rise out of on the whole internet and b/c of the Illinois-Michigan basketball antagonism of these last couple years. Hate when he does it though since it really takes away from the rest of his work.

As has been said before in various ways... We want guys who WANT to be here. Period.

Illini basketball is a gem of a program and Blue Blood-level fan base. Not taking second place to anyone, anywhere.

Yes, it stings that we haven’t taken that Great Big Trophy back to Our Prairie like we all want. But we need to step back and not rise and fall with every tweet, rumor, transfer, and recruit that comes along.

Good coaches tell their players: Know your worth and act like it.

And when you succeed: Act like you’ve been here before.

Whoever puts on that special uniform with Illini colors is going to be a good to great to elite player who is in on a righteous mission to bring The Big Trophy to the Land Where Roundball Is Loved Like No Other.

One day soon, we’ll all be sipping champagne in Champaign... wherever we are on the Planet.

And all you recruits and Portal guys everywhere... come join up with The Best if you dare.

I wanted him bad (left nut) as a prep. Now? Not nearly as much. Yeah, he'd check some boxes, but would he be happy with a 20-25 mpg role? Just to be clear, we could do massively worse. He's good, just not nearly as good as I thought he'd be.
Ramey committed to Louisville before Pitino got canned. They would make sense again here.

I ended up muting him because the drama wasn't worth the cake.

There's other, less trolly, sources out there.

Y'all want to know a secret: here's how to get 100% reliable information...

... wait until it officially breaks. Otherwise, it's all speculation and hearsay, even from "insiders." Treat it as such.
But we're insane!

I’m a long time lurker who, except for the depressing and disgusting game thread posts, has been enjoying the roller coaster rides on this message board, particularly on the recent hoops recruiting threads. If I were a grad student in social psych looking for a dissertation topic or if I were still doing research, I would be shouting, “Hallelujah! I’ve hit publication pay dirt!

“How social media can create mass hysteria: A case study of three weeks of postings on a university sports fan message board.” ;)

Fan derives from fanatic. Trolling when fans are acting crazy seems entirely reasonable.
