No Stress Relax GIF

While this board continues to freak out, I’m going to sit back, relax, and keep drinking orange kool-aid while staring at the orange and blue sky.🔶🔷🔶🔷
Well, I am drinking something but it isn't Kool-aid.

I’m a long time lurker who, except for the depressing and disgusting game thread posts, has been enjoying the roller coaster rides on this message board, particularly on the recent hoops recruiting threads. If I were a grad student in social psych looking for a dissertation topic or if I were still doing research, I would be shouting, “Hallelujah! I’ve hit publication pay dirt!

“How social media can create mass hysteria: A case study of three weeks of postings on a university sports fan message board.” ;)

It has been a fun ride, lol...now can we get some timetables...and who is the combo secret transfer. 😉

Would a Shannon commitment to Illinois cause an issue with Melendez?

Is the hubbub around Skyy Clark in the past 24 hours just noise, or is it based on anything substantial? Seems some people suddenly feel confident but not clear in what direction since so many repliers just say their own school.

I assume if it was legit, we'd know more details.

Edit:. I also partially regret asking because I hate falling for idiots online, so please take this as me asking if any developments over the weekend.

No is correct, but who knows with kids today? About 1/3 to 1/2 of Illini opponents have a defender that can shut down any player on your team. That is why you want 5 players on the court who can play both ends and score. No team has 5 such defenders, but with help good defense, you can see what they do to Kofi, Trent, Plummer, and Grandison at times. When your lead guard is your top scorer, it is not difficult to hold him to 10 pts. or less and make other players, like DFW, beat you. Or Grandy at times, but if you do not guard him, Grandy can score threes in bunches as we saw. We all saw how Plummer struggled to get open shots due to his size and had to go to a difficult (at best) step back move at times just to get a shot off...let alone in rhythm. Ayo, on the other hand, had tremendous speed, length, and stride that allowed him a couple of extra inches to get a layup untouched....by the most slim margin much of the time

That said, even the most talented players, if they are trained correctly as team players (all are not or don't buy that truth), want to play with the most talented, hard-working, and unselfish players available. Then the game is much more fun when you now your teammates can handle whatever is thrown at you.
