If this is "big boy recruiting" the staff obviously isn't ready for it. And to let TSJ go to a conference rival? yikes. Yes, the Skyy addition was great but when you lose a top 100 freshman and your starting PG without replacing it that offsets any victory we have had so far. Seems as though we will be heading to another first weekend exit as there aren't too many other difference makers like TSJ left out there. Sad to see the staff/insiders so calm on letting a talent like him slip away so easily, especially after missing out on Brandon Murray
This take cracks me up every time. "First weekend exit" and also "letting him slip away". We all know that the tournament is about being hot at the right time. Plenty of teams with more talented rosters(on paper)get bounced on the 1st weekend EVERY YEAR! Just quit with the sky is falling garbage. The program is in the best shape it has been in in 15 years or more and people still wine and moan about not getting further in the tournament. We have had a tournament team 2 years(should be 3)in a row now. More obviously to come. We will have our breakout year in the tourney and it will probably be the Illini team that has to fight and claw just to make the tourney. Just how it goes.

We're going to be a top 25 team again, for the 3rd year in a row ... With at least one All-American on each of those teams ... And we are coming off of TWO Big Ten Championships ...

Recruiting seems to be going just fine 🤷‍♂️
I fully respect you wanting to keep some things confidential, but is the staff putting an all-our press on TSJ to come here right now? Ramey? In BU we trust. Again, I know you guys know more than you let on😏

We didn't replace our starting PG with Skyy? The sky is not falling, friend.

I don't think anyone really knew how banged up Trent was this entire year, and it may never get out publicly. He just kept his head down and worked.

The kid is an absolute warrior. The epitome of an everyday guy. And a guy who in my opinion still doesn't get enough credit for his career here. I will ride or die with Trent Frazier on my team, and I know Brad would say the same.

Rafters. That's all I've got to say about that.

Not sure how interested Trent is in coaching, but I could see him killing it like Chester in about 10 years.

The staff is very active in the portal and HS recruiting, but also very selective ...

Here's what I can say right now in regards to recruiting in general, BU isn't a big fan of baggage and he is not willing to compromise the culture and the program to make some kid happy ...

Kofi & Ayo were extremely talented and they let Brad coach them HARD because they want to be great and know Brad can get them there ... And there are kids we are recruiting with tons of talent but when they give the attitude that they don't really want to be coached and want things handed to them on a silver platter, and don't want to be about the TEAM, they come to realize rather quickly that Illinois might not be the right place for them 🤷‍♂️

You have no idea what the final roster is gonna look like. Maybe just take a beat and see what happens before you make these kinds of proclamations.

Only on Loyalty could we sign our highest ranked player in two decades and be in such a state less than a week later that it warrants the use of a gif like this 🤦‍♂️

There are times on this board where I wish we had the ability to use the full breadth of the English language. This is one of those times. Instead, I'll settle for a gif.

Hearing some mixed signals on Shannon. Is any team a clear favorite at the moment? I heard Michigan now might not be in a good spot and haven’t heard any encouraging signals for Illinois since he entered. Also, Kentucky is bringing in Chris Livingston and Cason Wallace.

Good grief some of you guys go off the deep end in a hurry. Not sure how you insiders put up with half of this stuff without just going off on people not sure I could show that restraint. Anyway guys we will be fine some of you need to calm down and try and remember where we are now compared to just a few years ago.
