I didn't say he would. Someone said Ivy League would be a good place to play and get a great education. I just said he would have to pay in the Ivy League since they don't offer athletic scholarships. However, if he wants to play much then that would be his motivation to leave and do so at a quality University on par or better than U of I. He may be happier doing both.

Jeremy Lin said in a video that he still had to pay Harvard tuition. I assume he wasn't flat out lying. Totally possible IMO since he was a black sheep in the 1st and 2nd year of this college ball career. With that being said, I would strike a deal with the Ivy league school if I were transferring to play ball.
Only mattered so we could count on Jerrence Tenior Esq in the '23 class.

Maybe for some, I will say having lived in Ithaca that it is beautiful out there. We lived on the lake and nice slopes for skiing close by. Dad did a year sabbatical at Cornell during his tenure at U of I and we almost didn't come back. It was pretty sweet. I wouldn't blame anyone that could get a free education there for wanting to go.
I think the “surprising” news is Jake or Hutch coming back and has nothing to do with Curbelo.
