Guys Emoni was considered the next can’t-miss NBA superstar like two years ago. Yes his stock has fallen, he didn’t measure out amazingly and had an up-and-down freshman year.

He’s still an unbelievable talent and we would be insanely lucky to get him. Let’s remember he was 17 last year.
In an era where everyone is going to basketball academies and getting the bag in all kinds of ways, the Bates family still seems like people you don't want to be involved with. It's not about his basketball ability.

Emoni Bates is eerily similar to Kahlil Whitney. Ultra athlete who seems to be highly ranked due to being a fantastic athlete and not necessarily actually a very skilled basketball player. Btw- that’s also the sentiment inside the Memphis program, hence the transfer.

He's a terrible athlete lol. Had like a 30 inch vertical or something..

Edit: 24.5 inch

Maybe this is my orange tinted glasses but I see the kofi decision as win-win.

Either our all American comes back or we open up and play a style next year more similar to the truly elite, long, athletic, downhill, multi-level threats all around.
Well we will be better with him so I for one hope he stays! Lol!

So we can add others from the portal and win a Title.

Geez! For the last week or so I spent WAY too much time on this board consumed by the Curbelo will-he-or-won’t-he seesaw. I finally began to return to more sane usage when I see this pathetic blue thing. Now what???

Kofi update:
Staff does not know what he's thinking right now. Has a week to decide (April 24th)
Buzz has been saying pro for a couple of days. I would put it at 50/50 right now, no one really knows...
IF Kofi does leave, there are two guys in particular that would make great replacements. Both are very interested.
Should be a big few days
