Same question here. Can he move with the ball and hit jumpers out to 25'? Inquiring minds want to know. If he can, he will likely be a 5 star...maybe keep Rodgers on the bench if TR can't shoot which I am hoping does not prove true. I am still looking for a big that can drive into the lane and hit a 8-12 footer at over 60%. Hawkins can be that guy but does not seem to want to do it. The success of the 3 pointer and the dunk have virtually eliminated that shot. When is the last time it was seen on an ESPN highlight other than Ayo winning games with it?

In watching his latest clip, all I see is a much shorter version of Kofi and the muscle game. Not being critical, just looking for some facts.
The games i saw featured none of that. He did what was needed of him. He is a presence in the paint, rebounder, athletic rim protector. I can't compare him to anyone in the NBA right now, but i would say he is like a 15 16 year old high school version of Amare Stoudemire. That might be a lofty comparison but with hard work I can see him projecting into a player like that.

After watching Brad fail to play shooters with him in the tournament, don't blame him if his choice is to transfer
Chicago Bulls What GIF by NBA

1. You can improve and still need to work harder to get to where you say you want to be (in the NBA)
2. What was his percentage on shots outside of the paint? Not good
3. Kofi does like Fletch and does all that is asked of him by Fletch. But he has skipped summer workouts the last two years, he isn't scrimmaging with the guys right now like he should be. He doesn't go the extra mile like Ayo did or Trent even.

Quite honestly, some of the greatest Centers of all time would have a problem finding a place in today’s game.

Wilt Chamberlain... Bill Russell... Nate Thurmond... Artis Gilmore... Patrick Ewing... Jabbar... etc. played in eras when the Big Man in the Low Post really could anchor and dominate the game. They were matchup nightmares and could singlehandedly change the flow and fortunes of a game and season.

But first came the Three Point Line... and more Guards began to learn to hit with frequency from distance. Then, Forwards began to drain Threes. And now, guys around 7 feet have learned how to add the long outside game to their well-crafted inside game. And everybody likes to go for that extra point these days and the low-post and mid-range games have become less important.

Wilt Chamberlain... Bill Russell... Nate Thurmond... Artis Gilmore... Patrick Ewing... Jabbar... etc. would certainly find a place in today’s Association. But They would not be the same dominant forces nor would They be the focus of modern Offenses any more. They couldn't be.

And where They used to dominate Defensively with their inside presence... They would do nothing to stop the hot Three Point shooters of today. And most everybody knows how to shoot Threes today.

And Kofi – not being in the same class as all those legends — is cut in the mold of that kind of Center from a generation or two ago.

It’s just fundamentally a different game from what it used to be. And it likely won’t change in the future unless something is done to tweak the rules again.

So for Kofi — does he want to face his future NOW or in a year? He’ll pretty much be the same player either way. And whatever he decides... it will probably make much more of a different to the Illini this year than it will for his own future.

The Big Center without an outside game has now been diminished like the running back in football or the baseball hurler whose fast ball can’t get above 93. The Game is passing them by.

We all appreciate Kofi for what he's done right now without any worry for tomorrow.

Okay, since Kofi is announcing that he's staying tomorrow, we need another recruit to step up and commit to IL on Friday. We've been promised a Friday announcement and I won't accept anything less!! What say you, TSJ, Collins, Ramey, Mystery Recruit X?!?
Give me Ramey and let’s call it done.

Feel an odd sense of calm over the Kofi decision. Feel like Illini hoops in a much better spot to survive life without Kofi next season than they would have been this previous season. Hopefully we don’t have to worry about that yet and we get 1 more year
