Then we would have a lineup of Skyy, RJ, Hawk, Nance and Dain? Or does Dain come off the bench? I know Brad mentioned that Hawk played some 3 this year but can he play the 3 for long periods of time in a game?
I don't think Hawk is a 3 plus we need more consistent shooting and slashing from that position. He is a good athlete but he can't guard the Ivey and Davis and other type 3s we will be facing elite athletes. That role is more for Ty or someone else.

if BU thinks Lieb can give us a few minutes at the 5

I, for one, will believe the Dainja hype when I see it, and as much as I see CoHawk’s potential, he’s not yet a proven starter who can be consistently relied upon (needs to get past mental lapses and prove he can play 30+ solid minutes of basketball a game). I think we should take all the frontcourt help we can get. Dainja / Hawkins / BBV / Lieb isn’t exactly frighteningly good on paper.
Plus we need some 35 percent ir so three point shooting from our 1 through 4 spots.

I’m sure we are all at the point of making wild guesses at things. But I’ll throw my prediction in the ring just to see if I’m reading all Tea leaves

- Grandison graduates
- Hutcherson transfers

+ David Jones from Depaul
+ Cam whitmore
+ Bryce Hopkins (;))

That’s my prediction and I’m sticking to it
With those and our current roster, we could run the Grinnell System with a fresh 5 every 4 minutes. Full court press, fast-break stop and pop 3's, press on make and misses, and repeat for 40 minutes.

Is there a sign-up sheet for this?

Wait...There are people here that don't think Pete Nance would start for us? A 6'10" guy who hit 45% of his threes last season? I may get crucified around here for this but, at this point in their careers, there isn't much Coleman Hawkins can do on a basketball court that Pete Nance isn't already better at.

If you add some elite-level pieces, guys are going to wind up leaving ... It's just part of the game.

That's not to say it would be Hawkins but if we land who I think we can land, then some guys are really going to contemplate their options ...
Not saying you think IL WILL land these guys, but who in your mind do you think IL has a good shot at landing? I think Jones is certainly in play. I have no idea about Nance, Whitmore, or even Christie.

Keep stacking talent and it doesn’t really matter if he stays or leaves
Totally understand, but at some point you want some continuity IMO or we end up as KY/LSU and sometimes a continuous identity becomes a struggle in tourney time. If we were fortunate to land both Whitmore and Nance, I would totally bring Dainja off bench and go fast right out the gates.

I won’t be casting any stones your way. When you’re right you’re right.

I do think Hawk has most of the tools to get to that level though if he keeps progressing.

Don't forget Dain is a Junior but has only played 9 minutes of college ball. Very unproven commodity.
Not saying that there's any comparison to Hutch (because injuries) but there was a lot of hype around Hutch, specifically from BU but it never materialized.

One would think Whitmore becomes priority #1. That is of course *if* he decides to leave Villanova and get out of his NLI. Seems like getting out of the NLI wouldn't be an issue, so him officially moving on from Villanova could perhaps be a big ***domino*** for us.
