I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned somewhere in the tomes of recent recruiting pages, but if true that TSJ has admissions issues w/ Illinois, wouldn't he certainly be facing the same issues at MICH?
I agree, unless the admissions issue remain a hurdle. We've seen some iteration of this TSJ situation play out in both basketball and football a thousand times.
Kid essentially commits, it leaks, he gets upset about the leak spoiling his announcement and tweets or IG posts that it's not legit - rarely if ever does it result in an actual change of heart or mind - and then a couple days later he announces for the same place that was leaked.
Doubt this is any different.
Just put out an ambiguous GIF file and consider it done! See? Even I would get them thinking with this one.Do I need to make something up to get off the Illinois Michigan talk?
I believe the point of the original post was that TSJ was not a lock to Illinois like many on here thought and those that said he was not a lock got a decent amount of backlash for saying that. The post was not about another Big Ten team's status in College Basketball, hence nit picking the post and being off-topic. The original post was using the screenshot as backup to the point of the post which doesn't seem nit picky to me.You went back to take a screenshot and call out insiders. But I'm picking nits. Cool.
I was honestly asking, not being facetious. They have a great pedigree (as much as I hate to say it), but I wouldn't typically think of them as a traditional blue blood. If there's any blue blood type in the Big Ten, I'd think of Indiana first.
Michigan strikes me as being in the same camp as OSU: great at football which helps them be successful in basketball. Because of their success on the gridiron, their basketball team is overlooked. Whether that's deserved is up for debate.
Yeah, but I am really hoping Chester goes after Jalan Haralson #13 out of Anderson, IN. He's listed as Fishers, but that's because he moved for basketball only. I have family with close ties to him. I messaged Chet to look into the kid because he's everything that we would want in a guard (not small forward). He said he would. THAT would be awesome!ESPN put out 2025 rankings for the top 25 guys: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings/_/class/2025

Holy moly! I LOVE our insiders! What the heck are you talking about? I was giving credit where credit was due, that is, to Dishwhite and @IllinoisReg, and making the point that sometimes bad news is accurate. Geez, have a gummie and start your weekend a little early. You went back to take a screenshot and call out insiders. But I'm picking nits. Cool.

da*n I thought we were around #11 or so last time I saw that listSuprised we aren't battling Lipscomb for recruits more /s
That was before the 10+ year swoon during the Groce/Weber years (post 2005)!!!da*n I thought we were around #11 or so last time I saw that list
Well I would disagree....if the Illini want to contend for B10 championship and make a deep run into the tourney this year....having experience at the point I think is a must.....maybe not by the end of the season...but you're asking a lot of 2 very good players (Clark & Epps) with no real playing experience at this levelWith Clark and Epps on the way, we don't need an "experienced" PG. We need help at the 4, and probably a decent backup center.
BU has us climbing back up that list. in BU I trustThat was before the 10+ year swoon during the Groce/Weber years (post 2005)!!!
Would you call Michigan a blue blood though? For basketball?
Be careful. That’s how I started. Then Dan just sucks you in and everybody wants to fight you.I made an account after years of lurking just so I can join in on the like button
I suppose like many others, I have been a daily Loyalty lurker, yet never posted over the years until today. I also happen to be a booster. I realize this topic has been discussed many times before but I have genuinely been torn and wanted to give these new NCAA rules some time. However, between NIL & this endless portal/recruiting chaos, I have decided I am done in regards to any future donations. This may not be the right thread, but I wonder how many others are feeling the same. If these kids no longer value an Illinois degree and no longer demonstrate LOYALTY to the program, coaches, fanbase, etc., why should we boosters continue to support this program? In my mind, Illinois was the role model, always leading the conference in terms of actual education of athletes. I know we are all desperate to win a title, but at what cost? Yes, I know the NCAA changed the rules & this is just the new normal that we can do nothing about. Yet, it seems we are now teaching greed and impatience as values to our student athletes, most whom will never play beyond college level. I will always be a fan but can no longer donate to a program or system lacking integrity.

LOL wouldn't it be great if TSJ was going to announce for Muck Fichigan until the MIF tweet and for some reason he now says nah to them and goes somewhere else. I would laugh my !!! off. I mean kids have changed their minds over less before.. who knows?Irvin was not supposed to send out that tweet ...
Exactly. We don’t need a Ramey though. He would be an awesome add, but the fact remains we cant go into the season with a complete list of ball handlers being true freshmen and expect to win titles.Well I would disagree....if the Illini want to contend for B10 championship and make a deep run into the tourney this year....having experience at the point I think is a must.....maybe not by the end of the season...but you're asking a lot of 2 very good players (Clark & Epps) with no real playing experience at this level
Jalen Haralson, a guard out of Fishers High School was ranked 13th in the rankings. Incredible player with offers from IU, Purdue, and Maryland. My cousin played with him in middle school, and he is someone to watch out forESPN put out 2025 rankings for the top 25 guys: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings/_/class/2025

Which is why I was surprised when I heard we were involved. Thought maybe that bridge had been burned, but I guess with his talent you have to be willing to play the game.Illinois leading, then FSU, then Depaul, then commits to Depaul, then decommits a week or two later, then winds up at Texas Tech, then Chris Beard and his people get into it, then Chris Beard leaves for Texas, then TSJ people talk to other schools before he comes back, then he enters the portal after this year, then MIF puts out his "list", then the credit situation happens, and now we are here
You recruit him too, help out Chester a bit!Yeah, but I am really hoping Chester goes after Jalan Haralson #13 out of Anderson, IN. S*** you don't even have to go that far just hit us with a Denzel gif to get us through the day
Holy moly. Never realized that got rid of the ads.....I've always just read the board w/o an account (last 5 years or so). Finally made an account last Fall solely because I had to vent my frustration watching Brandon Peters mosey around the pocket.Maybe he just found out he can avoid ads by being logged into an account.
He's already on campus!
I can't wait for someone to miss the previous part and blow this out of proportion
Haha, you don't even know the half of it ...
