I'm sure many of you, in thinking back a few days on the recruiting threads, a number of posters who have been very critical of staff's efforts regarding the portal; insiders posting positive stuff that doesn't seem to come true; and the general trend of Illini basketball, and being very argumentative about it. You may be able to guess some of those I have in mind.

Here I come back to the thread from this morning to find 15 pages of happy news, and not a single post from some of these guys. I really don't understand some people.
I wish all of you guys could see how crazy recruiting is…..when we say recruiting is fluid….likes it’s wild. It can literally change in 10 minutes. Then back again in another 10

We got lucky on this one due to michigans weird policy about transferring credits. But that’s ok. Sometimes it pays to be lucky. We’re like one transfer and nobody else leaving away from being a really good and possibly great team next year. Future is bright beyond that. Great day.

Nance next!

Crootin"!
Any sense of Nance's timeline to make a decision? He's got until June 1 to withdraw from draft and NBA combine is 5/16-5/22. I'd assume he stays in at least until combine?

Sorry...I'm trying to catch up...and the snippets from this board are piecing together very chaotically in my head (not unusual as an ever aging Illini fan)...

Someone pls confirm the following:

1. Nance is transferring to Illinois
2. Shannon is transferring to Illinois
3. Shannon would have gone to Mich, but TT coach Adams didn't approve summer school, which was required by Michigan for him to transfer. Illinois gets him, because apparently we have difft/lesser requirements and dont require summer school at TT for him. Dickinson thinks coach Adam's is killing Shannon's real dream of being a wolverine by not approving summer school
I do not see an issue here. Why would Tech allow summer school to a guy who is transferring? If he is in the portal, he is not at tech anymore. Its Hunter being a typical scUM loser

Whitman did what he needed to do … There’s a reason Brad always brings up his relationship with Josh in interviews … Whitman just gets it.
The sad thing is other AD's don't. You can have a top 50 university, have strict admission guidelines for the 95%, and use waivers for those that could mean the difference between school revenues of $40 million versus $80 million for the year by winning a championship in a major sport. When those folks lose sight of the business aspect of college sports, it's mind blowing!

If things happened in reverse, we would react exactly like Dickinson and other Michigan fans.

"Why is TT spitefully denying where TSJ wants to go"
"Sucks but we have academic standards"

I don't get the Dickinson slant on this. We would be raving about how Goode/RJ said something.
You're totally missing it. Goode/RJ would never say something publicly like Dickinson has. BU brings in character guys along the same lines as his character, which is why you won't be seeing BU or any of his guys slapping an opposing coach or just being an overall d-bag. This board would not have the chance to "rave" about some ridiculous Twitter post made by our guys. I'm glad Michigan is stuck with Dickinson and vice versa.

You are a reflection of your coach..which is why Dickinson is a "enter any word here"

A mid major PG would be ideal. Nobody to spook anyone, but a guy who can play a true point (as it's wait and see from Clark and Epps at the collegiate level) and push the young guys so there is someone to unseat. Last year, Curbelo in all his wildness was the only true point and right now there's nobody except a couple freshmen who we have to see from. Someone mentioned Andres Feliz, that's the kind of guy I'd have in mind. If we could clone him, I'd be all for someone like that.
I've got a Matty Heldman or Spike Albrecht clone in my head. Both of those guys were awesome!
