Yeah, but Todd was an uncle by marriage! You can't count that in the same gene pool. But then again, Jordan's grandma, Jean Stiemkendurkenziele, was a silver medalist in the original Pan Am Games, so there's that.
Gene Pool is someone we should consider for a backup PG role. We'd be swimming in PGs if we got him. Then again, it would water things down.

I think that list is pretty suspect, and by suspect I mean terrible.

Seems like they are holding on to the kids high school rating too much, and not taking into account it is not nearly as difficult to put up big stats in mid and low majors.
Absolutely. Also maybe they’re factoring in how many years they have left of eligibility? Only thing I can think of. TSJ is anywhere from 6-12 range in my eyes but no where near 20s.

What’s crazy to me is the Creighton love. Scheierman is a nice player, but he is not big impact level at the high major. He’s release point on his shot is too low and many high major college coaches don’t think his playmaking skills will translate. Mark my words come next season. 247 has him at 4th

I'd be ok adding this Stiemke kid as 5th incoming freshman to the class rather than keeping a 2nd ride open. He sounds like a very later riser hence why he isn't on any lists right now. Essentially a lotto ticket but another body to add to the list and sometimes you never know.

I’d rather take a proven player over another flier especially with a young roster like we have. I’ve seen too many fliers recently not work out and basically waste a spot on the bench. Either leave the spot open or get a transfer. We don’t really need another freshman guard.

There's really not a benefit to keeping another ride open. Just means one less player in there incase the injury bug hits hard. Anyone who transfers mid-season from elsewhere is a player that is riding the pine at their previous school.

There is a ton of benefit to keeping another scholarship open in todays environment. Remember the mac etienne situation? We had no ride and he went elsewhere. Dain was another mid season addition. I’d rather have the flexibility over a third string freshman Pg.

Hard to make that determination without knowing how different factors were weighted in the rankings. For example, do they consider year 1 impact or overall impact of a transfer? TSJ seems to be under-ranked if you consider his likely year 1 impact based on his established history at a high major program, but if they consider total impact, he could get dinged for being essentially a 1 year rental while other players have multiple years of eligibility left.

This kid was 6-3 in the first tweet, 6-4 in the second tweet, and is now 6-5. All in about an hour - talk about open growth plates!

Its weird as I have read three different profiles on him and he is listed either 6-4 or 6-5. Either way, he has good size and he has a quick release and a nice mid range jumper. Quick hands on D as he seems to read the floor well.

Yeah, but you also don't want to lock up 4 years with a space filler if there are better options from the portal or next year's class.

Agreed, or else we are back to the idea of trying to gently force players off the roster and into the portal who aren't likely to meaningfully contribute in order to make space. Creaning, if you will. Seemingly doing that this year has ruffled a lot of feathers around here already. The solution is carry 1 or 2 open slots in order to move quickly when opportunity presents itself via the portal (or more traditional transfers a la Dain Dainja).

It would be pretty short sighted by 247 to assume these players aren't going to transfer again the first chance they get. They really shouldn't look further past year 1 impact, which is hard enough to predict as it is.

This guy seems to be in the press whining or poor-me’ing every other week.
He's trying to be Draymond Green of college basketball. Trying to stay in the news cycle as long as possible to maximize exposure and NIL opportunities. With the numerous social media outlets and podcasts looking to build their own brand, Hunter will always have an audience.

The new reality is athletes are now each their own individual business.
