In regards to Dior, unless Oregon grants release and NCAA approves, he may not be eligible this year anyway, correct? It would be like if Schutt leaves Duke because they recruited several over him. He would have to seek release and waiver from NCAA to be eligible this year.

Some of you are revealing why it's so important we pick up Nance. He's a classic 4, which we don't have. In case of injury or foul trouble for Dain, he could also plug the 5. Maybe it's an NBA-ready body that Nance needs for the League. Make sure to keep Fletch front and center in the recruiting process.
Yes, he would be the perfect addition. But it doesn't seem it's going to happen.
I wonder the same thing. Why have Letters of Intent if the player can get out of it so easy?
Maybe he just committed verbally but didn't sign an LOI.

I believe the 247 rankings have epps above dior anyways. composite is a different story tho
I'm generally very forgiving on "character" concerns but 10 high schools is pretty baffling to me. I remember people talking about AM's high school transfer saga as some kind of ominous portent we ignored after he left for LSU, but Dior makes that seem pretty pedestrian.
I also think that having 3 freshmen PGs is not necessarily the best use of available scholarships. I'd rather have another experienced ball handler and another big. But of course that assumes the availability of those pieces, which may not be a given.

247 is super bullish on Epps, has him 43rd in the class. ESPN, Rivals and On3 (especially, he's #111 for them) are all way lower on him. I certainly hope 247 is right and the others are just haters

247 lists that he has signed. I know they aren't always up to date, hence Illinois has 9 Power Forwards on the roster, including Leron Black, but still.

Both The Oregonian and DucksWire.com indicate that UofO released him from his LOI as of Thursday afternoon.
Last thing on Dior from me. I'm guessing Nebraska since his lead recruiter at Oregon was Crutchfield, who is now at UoN.
If there are attitude issues that teams will shy off, a place like Nebraska that's just desperate for talent would make sense.
Chris Crutchfield is the head coach at the University of Omaha. I don't think Johnson will be going there.
This guy's too talented and confident to play consistently bad. He's going to contribute and help win games. If we pursue and land him, he's almost assuredly gone either way in one year ... NBA or portal. Just ask yourself if you believe one year is worth it.
Read he is planning to reclass to 2023. Perhaps we have him in Fletch program instead.

Agreed. Although Plummer was good, Battle brought not only high flying talent to C-U, but intensity and an attitude that lead the team to a final four (and was part of one of the most talented NCAA teams that did not win it all).

Didn't he only transfer from Manual to Morgan Park?
My guess is that you are thinking of someone else.
Yeah, it was only one transfer, but he is who I was thinking of. I guess (according to posters on this site) he kinda transferred without telling anyone at Manual, and those circumstances were brought up a few times when he transferred to LSU. Pretty tame in comparison to Dior imo.

Yeah, nowadays sticking with one HS is getting to be a red flag. ;-)
The premise of the article is that the player was previously at a 4 year institution, so Norman doesn't fit the bill.
Kenny Battle certainly does... Maybe they don't consider 1989 "The modern era"? I don't see any other reason a standout on a Final four team, and a first round draft pick is the 5th guy mentioned...
Shannon, Mayer and Dainja will soon enter the argument. Hopefully, they will push Kenny for the consensus top spot.
