A couple things to know about the information you’ll receive on this board:

1: A portion of the “insiders” are not insiders at all. They have no sources. They simply gather info on Twitter and premium boards and pass it along here as inside information. Another portion of the insiders not only have no sources, but are simply trolling the board and pass along wild guesses for fun. Only a small portion of “insiders” have true sources, whether that’s with the staff or a player/recruit.

2: Kids are kids. They change their mind. A lot. They also tell multiple coaches they’re in. So even if an insider has a source on the staff, there’s still a good chance the information they hear is wrong. That’s just part of it.

3: Message boards, like this, are mostly wild speculation. Some of it will come to fruition. Some of it won’t. If you only want “facts”, don’t come into the board, just read the front page. That’s real news.

4: Have fun with it. Treat the board more as entertainment than “news” and you’ll be a heck of a lot happier.

Check out the beginning of this. Guess I should have watched the video from the beginning and not just from my previous post.

Looks like we converted him and his podcast to the beloved!

"I don't think Illinois fans are afraid of anything"

"Very true"

Someone may or may not have mentioned this but if Nance left NU on relatively good terms, don't you think that some of his decision will be based on having to play twice (or more) against the University where he played for 4 years, thus destroying any legacy he left ?
If you follow this logic then the same would apply to Michigan. So, that would mean he's headed to UNC.

Have you ever dealt with an 18-year-old kid that is listening to advice from those that mainly benefit them, the adult? The majority of these kids don't have a final say in where and what they actually do. These 18-year-old kids are telling almost everyone that reaches out to them what they think that coach or recruiter wants to hear because they don't have the skillset, or ability to decide for themselves. An 18-year-old kid does not want to upset or disappoint anyone that whom they have built any sort of relationship and that is difficult for some to understand.

Everyone here should be VERY thankful for the info we get because they don't have to share anything and more times than not they have been dead-on in the info they have given us. The coaches are just as surprised by decisions many times as the average Joe Schmoe is when someone goes elsewhere than the beloved.
To this first point, that's why I wouldn't ever apply the word lock to anyone who didn't publicly announces something. Yet, there's lots of people who make that insinuation, sometimes state it verbatim.

To the second point, I'm not thankful at all because speculative "info" does nothing to change Illinois basketball. Knowing someone is coming here on Tuesday instead of Friday really doesn't matter to me. As many have said, they find the whole "insider" game entertaining, but the reality is that it's irrelevant to me in what matters most which is wins and losses.

So keep loading up with info on which coaches are watching and offering which players. Who's visiting, etc. That's why I come here.

I know others come here for the entertainment of the insider game and that's great for them. As long as it doesn't ever have a negative impact on the program, go for it.

I thought this guy was a scUM fan. He's wearing an Illini Jersey in this video. At 4:37, you briefly see the block I logo at the neck line.

Gotta say, if this guy is not an Illini fan, he sure acts like one.

He calls Brad underwood "Daddy Brad", which I find funny and relateable. Yeah i thought he was a michigan fan too, but sure seems to be pushing a lot of illinois content.

If that were an Illinois guy saying stuff like that about Michigan I'd definitely think he was a plant. From my experience, every Michigan fan is a rabid homer and still thinks Illinois is a program beneath them (fine, let them keep sleeping on us, they won't be able to say "but but but NCAA Tournament results" much longer, I am confident our NCAA Tournament results are ahead and there isn't anything else after that holding us back from being considered a big boy program.)

Not sure why the slam here. Really great pickup for Mizzou. Arguably a top 5 portal guy and further evidence that Gates is gonne be the real deal. Looks like the scalpers price for the Braggin rights game is going to go back to previous levels.
slow down there chief. Gates has essentially transferred Cleveland State to Missouri. He kept their top recruit, which was key, and he landed Mosley, who is from Columbia. He missed on pretty much everyone else, including guys they thought they had.

I think he will definitely be an upgrade over Cuonzo, but I have no clue how good he's going to be in the long run. Missouri is not an easy place to recruit to. For local recruits you've got Illinois, Kansas, and Arkansas all programs at much higher heights currently right next door. Gates has connections to Chicago, but we all know how hard it is to recruit Chicago. Anderson gives us a really strong connection to Meanstreets guys and if Gates wants to live on the Fire, he is going to run into some frustrations.

Decent start, but a long way to go.

Missouri is in difficult recruiting position

Norm used to recruit Kansas City and St. Louis metros very well. However his sucessors have had less luck as recruiting has gone from in-state to regional to national. Brad has not relied on IL although he has had some sucess- Mark S, Ayo, Adam

Look at our 2022 class
Skyy - TN
Jayden - VA
Ty - MI
Sencire - OH
plus transfers
Mathew - TX
Shannon - IL

Great class - yet only 1 of 6 were from Illinois

rest of Roster
RJ - FL
Luke - IN
Brandin - IL
Dain -MN
Coleman- CA

just 2 players out of 11 from IL
