Is there evidence that MSU fans are freaking out about this? I perused twitter and didn't see anything of the sort. And why would they? The plan, as of now, appears to be to maintain eligibility and end up at MSU. If he does wind up at a different school for whatever reason, I'm not getting what that has to do with Overtime Elite.
So you don't think people here would be freaking out? I know you aren't new here. LOL

ZZ has announced that he will waive the $100,000 salary to maintain NCAA eligibility. I can't find any indication that Fears will do the same.

He just got the offer he was wanting a couple of hours ago ... He would be an insanely tough get, so I don't think he will become a super high priority although the staff loves his game ... Kid will finish top 10 nationally ...

no clown pants then? what a shame!

The kid hasn't even been playing ball for a full year ... Potential is insane ...

Duke is keeping tabs as are UK, UNC, and Kansas ... If the blue bloods offer it changes the recruitment ... Otherwise I think he stays within the state ...

Jerome Tang with a huge hire today ... Rodney Perry will be able to get him a lot of kids ... Fresh off winning Peach Jam and making it to the Geico championship ...

Also noteworthy is that NW has hired Chris Lowery ...

I guess I'm more interested in whether there's a legitimate reason to freak out than whether some segment of people will freak out over anything.

As for the $100k, I did find this tweet from the MSU 247 site that says he will maintain his eligibility but nothing official yet, because Fears to Overtime Elite doesn't appear to have been officially announced yet.

To me it just seems like a lot on this board are trying to maintain the fantasy of this decision being incontrovertible proof (proof that some on here have been doggedly after since Fears played well with the national team) that the staff was vindicated in passing on Fears while seeking justifications for why the commitment of one of our own to the very same thing is ok. My own opinion is that we don't know whether this is good news or bad news for MSU, we don't know if the Clark news is good or bad for us, and I'm perfectly confident in our staff to navigate the changing landscape. I trust the staff's opinion on Fears, while being open to the possibility that he may absolutely torch us, and am excited about Skyy.

Interested if any of you who have been around longer than I recall a full court triple-team press on any recruit the way we are going after Amani. I can’t recall our HC and (usually) 2 assistants at every game a kid plays.

I remember one example but I doubt anyone wants to talk about that.

Edit: actually I think we did with Ayo. But I was remembering the previous staff…

I know so much is about NIL these days but I always felt tang was a good recruiter in his own right (personal experience of him recruiting my players). He had that cool, confident charisma that I thought resonated well HS kids. Bringing in another good recruiter like that I can see guys that people would just want to play for.

But if K-State doesn’t bring the NIL bags is it gonna do anything for them?

KState got off to a pretty good start, with the commitment of Dai Dai, 247 composite Top 50.

Want to update you guys with new info ...

Booker still heading to MSU ... Royal now planning on going to Ohio State ... Once Scotty Middleton told the staff he was coming to Ohio State, that really changed Royal's mind ...
Anything on JJ taylor? I assume BBN backed off with the Edwards commitment?
