TSJ played three years at TxTech. He will play his fourth year at Illinois, and he has the free COVID year as well.

So, yes, he will theoretically have the option of playing two years at Illinois. But there is a reasonable expectation that he is only planning on staying at Illinois for one year. Your guess is as good as mine whether he would consider another transfer, stay in the draft, or explore international options.
In theory, another transfer would require a sit-out year. In theory.

Penn. St. must be pivoting to that elusive 5’9”Nimblefarb kid out of Olney with the ultra-useful Model U.N. and Drama Club background…the one that we seem to keep taking a pass on him…not sure why? I’ve been meaning to ask if anybody had anything on the guy. Haven’t heard the name for far too long now. ;)
Know the family. His name is Theodore Nibblefarb. Good kid. Good family. He worked hard over the summer. Up to 5’9 1/4”. He put on 7 lbs but he’s still fairly lean. Right at 142. Strong as an ox though. Hard work showcasing results though and able to stretch his set shot to around 12’-15’ with consistency. Off the court he’s doing well also and is President of his HS model UN club. Natural leader. They’ve got 6 members this year and are hoping for a charter designation for school year 25/26. Too much to stick with drama club also, but will be helping with set and costume design prn. Likely going to bust through the hoops rankings this season once 247 hears about him. Projecting him as a solid high level D1 power conference PG.

My guess with TSJ is that he has come to Illinois to get "Fletched" for a season and go pro. He has been a fringe NBA prospect for a few years. There was a strong chance he would have been drafted (mid to late 2nd round) had he stayed in last year. He was among the last to withdraw from the draft. Seems like he has been on a mission to get in the best shape of his life this offseason. The older you get, the shorter you leash with NBA teams. Agbaji was the only senior drafted in the 1st round last season. (Only 4 seniors drafted at all. No 5th year seniors)
If he isn't a first rounder after this season, he probably never will be.

Man, that'd be great for him and even better for the program!
