After reading the posts regarding ZZ"s decomitting I concur.....Best of luck to the young man....was looking forward to seeing him in Illini uniform, but if that's not best for him ...I may not understand, but sure can't hold it agains't him for looking at other options. I would hope that in any recruitment with this coaching staff that something like this would take place in talking and making an offer to a recruit......We (Illinois) really like your game....we think you have the right make up both physically and mentally to become a very good player for the University of Illinois...we'll do the very best we can to help you become better (insert asst. coaches & Fletch, etc) and get you to the next level if that's what you desire....in doing this we're going to do what's best for the team and the basketball program and hopefully that will be what's best for you as well....we're going to recruit the best players available to us...if you're not comfortable with that..talk to us....we're going to be honest and upfront with you....no one comes into this program with "guaranteed" playing time or roles...you have to work and earn that....if we recruit or offer a player that you feel may effect your playing time or your role, we're sorry, but as we said we're doing what's best for the program and hopefully that will be what is best for you as well. If you feel it's in your best interest to look at other opportunities during this process we will understand, and if you do indeed decide to move on, we just ask that you be honest and up front with us as well....whether you're and Illini or not we wish you the very best and will do our best to help you achieve your goals. Here at Illinois we're about becoming the one of the very best basketball programs in the country....and that means helping young men become the very best that they can become, whether in an Illinois uniform or not, you have our support and best wishes
