Can we hang on to Morez? He’s been committed for awhile and that makes me feel good, but the idea of him leaving the state to play for a national HS bball power makes me a tad nervous.
Talking about LaLu. can’t believe they lost to Bro Rice by about 8.Not sure why we should be concerned. We have landed recruits from all over. I also don't really know why Morez would want to leave his friends and family when he already has his scholarship. I guess if he wanted that step up in competition with a national schedule, I'd just go to LaLu. A little over an hour from home, but still at a strong program that plays all those big teams.
I would have expected that fact to seal the deal.Would have been 20,001 but my mother in law didn’t bite
I get it, it's tough. But try being from Forrest!Ha! Yes it is, I did think there would be others from that exact town on the board. When people ask where I’m from, I start with Pontiac, and then move up or down (Fairbury or Bloomington) depending on if the answer is yes or no.
Not to start this again, but PC class of ‘99.
I bet more people than you'd guess recognize Forrest from travelling on 47 between Champaign and the west suburbs.I get it, it's tough. But try being from Forrest!
hmmmmm.... that's a good pointI bet more people than you'd guess recognize Forrest from travelling on 47 between Champaign and the west suburbs.
Could be he wants to get away from Chicago, play tougher opponents, improve his game and have a pretty cool experience for a HS kid.Can we hang on to Morez? He’s been committed for awhile and that makes me feel good, but the idea of him leaving the state to play for a national HS bball power makes me a tad nervous.
Watched him and his St. Rita team play back in January. Got a very good look at him and James Brown, as far as height is concerned. He's clearly a smidge taller, so if JB is truly at his listed 6'10" height then so is MJ. But he's most definitely every bit of his 6'9" height (and taller IMO).Looks both taller and heavier. I'm usually skeptical about listed heights, but he might legitimately be 6'9.
I believe this is a fair summary and I sincerely hope it is good for these kids. But, I fear there is some of the darker side involved. Either way I would never fault a parent for making that decision. Assuming it is good for the kid.I have to imagine they have better facilities, better coaches (I'm sure there are exceptions), fewer distractions, more academic support, and better competition. When you are that caliber of athlete, the NBA isn't just a pipedream. If you want to give yourself the best shot at your dream, you may have to go the extra 1000 miles...
Lot of "shoulds" there. These kids shouldn’t be reading the message boards, and definitely shouldn’t care what some poster speculates about their roster spot. They should be focusing on the court, winning games, and getting better.
I lived just outside Forrest for the first 17 years of my life before the trip down 47 to Champaign!I get it, it's tough. But try being from Forrest!
I know it was mentioned that national highschools were after the Rita boys, do we expect them to stick with their AAU teams?Morez is 100% outplaying JB right now. If this continues into AAU, he will be a 5 star recruit
I like the one he basically dunks over James Brown.
The kid is a monster and looks way bigger than he did last year. And still has another year to fill out his frame. But he looks BIG ready right now.,
I myself besides others posted few highlights here with him taking and making 3 point shots ,wouldn’t call him a 3 point shooter but he does take and makes them in games. You don't often see a PF recruit with a college ready body, but he shows good power. I haven't seen enough of his highlights to know much about him, other than he seems scrappy, willing to defend, and has good athleticism. Don't think I've seen a highlight with a shot past the FT line.
Makes sense!I lived just outside Forrest for the first 17 years of my life before the trip down 47 to Champaign!
I thought less people would know Forrest compared to Fairbury, but I could be wrong. Maybe more people do know Forrest over Fairbury because of Route 47 and driving through. Everybody I talk to mentions they liked to stop at the Gibson City McDonalds.
Come on, IL Loyalty and Illini Nation, let’s show our recruit some love. We have 5,000 votes to make up to get Morez to the top!Morez is currently in 3rd place

You can vote multiple times.3rd when I just voted
Jaren Jackson shot like 40% from 3 in college lolI’ve watched a couple of clips of MJ now and I keep thinking he could absolutely develop into, hesitantly saying this for all the backlash it’s going to cause, Jaren Jackson.
there is a great pheasant hunting place there - Rooster Heaven - been there numerous timesI get it, it's tough. But try being from Forrest!
