D-bag was a beast at DeMatha, Michigan, and Graduating in 3 years at F""ighan.
Dickerson and Dainja at the 5. Hawkins, TyRodgers, Hansberry at the 4, TSjr. Goode, Rj/3 or 2. Guard currently Sencire and DrayLawhorn, Nicholas. Bring me a Old pt. Guard floor general and we are good.
Finally, Money walks and our Fans are the best in the Country!
I got it. He’s an accomplished, skilled d-bag. I’ll just hope that we opt for a strategic path towards winning that doesn’t involve Hunter Dickinson. Of which there, are MANY.

There are not any, he is the best option at 5 in portal. His 3 years in Big10 nearly 19pt per game and 9 boards. And he hits free throws. Imagine what he possibly could help Dainja with in practice. Dainja hadn't played in 2 year and IMO did awesome this year. The better players you have in Practice, better the position is! Now if he's a ScUM bag of course," Hard pass". But I respect someone who loves his school, Produces since Year 1! And talks a little smack. No problem and we talk smack to him because our Man Kofi was The only big who Owned him! Just my Thoughts!

Dickinson wasn't hateable in my view, because he was funny, said it like it was, and had a sense of humor.

This whole NIL thing has entirely changed the landscape of college athletics. When it first arrived, what's happening today, is exactly what I envisioned and regarded with dread. Of course I got the, "stop shouting at clouds" and "get off of my lawn" insults. However, I can't help but lament the passing of what I grew up watching. Getting a Jaden Epps and watching him grow and mature as a player was a big part of the thrill of college basketball for me. Watching him, S. Harris, Skyy Clark, Ty Rodgers, play together and gel into a smooth running machine, over three or four years and then be ready for a deep run in the tourney was a great thrill. But that scenario is now a thing of the past.

The next remark IS always, "don't be naive, cheating was always going on and it wasn't fair". I know that. And I hated it. But the answer, to me, was for the NCAA to do their job and enforce the rules equally. They didn't and they failed miserably. So because of their inability, or unwillingness to do their job to keep the playing field even, we are left with this; a new form of AAU basketball, or NBA lite if you will.

The last issue is always, "the colleges were making millions and the players got nothing except a measly full-ride scholarship for a free education. I never saw it that way. A free education, if taken seriously, is huge. I think not having to begin your adult life paying back upwards of $100,000 in student loans is a big deal.

Finally, I've been an Illini fan since I was eight years old. I am now 73. I'm not going to stop now. However, before I am inundated with smart a@@ remarks, let me just say, "don't tell me how to feel". It's progress. Things change and if you like this new form of college athletics, good for you. Enjoy. But I find it shallow and another attempt at instant gratification by bringing in hired guns every year to try to capture the elusive national title. If we ever get there, I will be thrilled. But not as thrilled as I would have been in 2026 watching Epps, Harris, Clark, Rodgers, and Danja, et al. finally maturing into one cohesive unit to take on the college basketball world.

To me, it's a shame. JMHO

I'm exactly half your age but I couldn't agree more with the sentiment you're expressing here.

My only pushback would be, the essence of what you're bemoaning here isn't NIL allowing players to have access to some of the enormous revenue they generate, it's the liberalization of transfer rules that makes every offseason a free-for-all and gives no one any incentive for players to stick with it and see their way through their college career at one school.

The magic of college sports is seeing our heroes, then our peers, then generations of young people go from wide-eyed high school kid to big man on campus to nostalgic alumni of our alma maters. We're connected to these guys, and they to us, in a way that has no analog in the pros.

Where we've come to with transfers totally spoils that. College sports aren't going to survive as a major spectator attraction if that romance goes away.

You are correct. Thank you for the clarification.
