He has another year of eligibility, but he doesn't say anything about entering the portal in the post. He's not a legit NBA draft prospect, so maybe he is just done with school. Or maybe he'll enter the portal later.

His name has been mentioned by insiders and Illinois is his home state so it would make sense if he does go into the portal after going through the pre-draft process.

if you are Underwood, you have to assume they are gone so you are not caught flat footed
deal with the consequences if they decide to come back and you have someone else already

just like when dating, you cant be afraid to ask out plan B to the dance , if plan A needs more "time" and cant give you an answer.

There was no mention of Underwood or how he is planning to recruit the portal.

Chat GPT seems to go to a dark place all too quickly. Not sure you want to feed that into the algorithm.

Maybe not with RJ if he truly doesn’t know what he wants to do, but I’m sure Shannon and Hawkins will keep both the staff informed through the process and the likelihood of whether they’ll be back or not. It is a balancing act, but one that is taking place with them having a lot more information than we do — as in actually having real, first hand knowledge. Not too worried about BU being caught by surprise and unprepared.

No mention of commitment. How about a story of in house visit, PG player a has Illinois in top 3, assistant coach x has a long relationship with player y etc…

So much better than current player hits the portal.

On Tuesday WDWS sportsline, Tate made an offhand comment about a transfer point guard the staff is confident is coming to Illinois but staff can't comment until the player goes through the portal process. anyone heard anything about this, or know who it might be?

The 2 PGs I randomly said hey it would be great to have that guy were Adrian Baldwin Jr and Yuri Collins. If Tyger Campbell is now a legit option, then you really can't go wrong with any of those 3. None have put their names in the portal though.

With Baldwin you would hope Chester could work the Baltimore connection. With Yuri you would hope to convince a St Louis guy to cross the river to the good side, and with Tyger you have the Tim Anderson connection. Crossing my fingers one of those 3 guys comes, and quite frankly my top choice might be Ace for the simple reason you could get 2 years of him.
