Also, I think it's reasonable for fans to question why a player leaves. He's a kid from small town rural IL getting an opportunity to be on u of I bball team. Sounds like a tremendous opportunity to me - present and future networking...

Let's see... 365 Divison 1 teams at 13 scholarships a team comes out to 4,745. 1300 divided by 4745 is...27.3%...Over a quarter of the entire Division 1 roster is playing musical chairs. Not counting the graduates and NBA guys.
Yikes, that's a lot of turnover. I'm not worried about Illinois' losing spots and what that means for them, this is everyone.

I didn't realize there used to be an NCAA draft. I was under the impression qualified prospects and their families or handlers chose which school to attend.
They were compensated with a valuable college scholarship and paid a very minor penalty for transferring.
