You are viewing Newman with your orange tinted glasses. Had a good game vs Illinois but didn’t start much as a junior and his freshman year was his best.

19 against illlinois. Average 6 for his junior year. Common occurrence for Illinois defense

Why, he played less than half a game. He probably sees a familiar name 100 miles north with more PT available

True but why leave the team until you know what Edey is going to do. I would go back to a team that could win and trust I would put in the work to be get a bigger role

For whatever reason, he always seemed to be in Painter's doghouse. Many Purdue fans thought he should be getting much more tick than he was.

So what sport outside of the NCAA pays the coaches more than the players?
Even in little league players get oranges and coaches have to shell out for trophies.

I could see a future where recruits are offered actual (NIL sponsored) contracts, replacing the National Letter of Intent, effectively turning the NCAA into a competing league to the G-League. Not ideal imo, but it is what it is.
So then as “employees” they get worker’s comp when injured, paid time off , etc. and as university employees contribute to its pension system .,,

If like a pro league do we no longer recruit but have a draft instead? What a mess

I'm a little worried the staff is being too picky/overplaying their hand with the portal. it was fine last year because we didn't have many needs on paper, but there holes up and down the roster right now

How many guys in the portal have announced a new school? Not many
We haven't really been connected to anyone outside just reaching out. Seen several other teams either get commits, schedule visits, or at the very least have a zoom call.

The universe is a big place, perhaps the biggest
As for the story itself, it was entitled "The Dancing Fool." Like so many Trout stories, it was about a tragic failure to communicate. Here was the plot: A flying saucer creature named Zog arrived on Earth to explain how wars could be prevented and how cancer could be cured. He brought the information from Margo, a planet where the natives conversed by means of farts and tap dancing. Zog landed at night in Connecticut. He had no sooner touched down than he saw a house on fire. He rushed into the house, farting and tap dancing, warning the people about the terrible danger they were in. The head of the house brained Zog with a golfclub.”

Purdue student here, vibe on campus was he was too hit or miss and made brain-dead mistakes. (Don't worry still an Illini through and through)
