There’s your hint …
Terrence?

Is it fair to say that both Shannon and Hawkins are attracted to the opportunity to run things back without all the mess that happened this year? That seems like the vibe.

When BU talks about wanting to get older, better able to share the ball and lift each other up, more options on offense it almost sounds like he's echoing those two guys demands about the kind of team they want to come back to.

TJ & Coleman have both been very involved with Brad about potential transfer additions …

Harmon & Marcus were approved …

Sources say they wouldn’t have any issues with Tyger, RayJ, Bona or Phillips either …

Seems like this season the older players bought in (TJ, MM, Coleman), and younger players had more of a difficult time adjusting. After this season and Skyy incident, I can see the vets wanting more mature PG.

And like, that's a risk if they get NBA feedback they can't turn down.

It also presents a situation where we might lose our top 4-5 scorers after next year (though Hawkins could potentially still play an additional year). "Get old" is one thing "stay old" can be trickier.

But with those two and a battle-tested PG we're a pretty serious operation next year, no question.

I liked BU's comment last night about how to deal with all this chaos where he kind of had a knowing smile and said "take it day by day and don't worry about it". A very honest statement, albeit with subtext.

Given the choice between being good next year and the magic beans of trying to do multi-year team development, we are choosing to be good next year and worry about the rest later. I can appreciate the logic there.

I’ll just say this exactly how they both said it to Brad … “If we don’t get an old PG who can get us the ball in our spots to succeed … we aren’t coming back.”

Coleman told Brad he doesn’t want to play the freshman experiment “bull crap” again … Hansberry plays Ty role and gets more minutes the better he gets … Otherwise … Coleman wants to play with vets …

I still hope to see DGL at the point. I think he's elite. Any effort to transform Shannon at PG (at this point in his life) would be very misguided. Any time DGL is on the floor with Domask and Goode, opponents would be stretched to the limit on defense. Throw Shannon in there for good measure. I'm not afraid of a four guard lineup, especially since three of them have length. You wouldn't dare disregard any part of the arc.
DGL’s dad is on the board.

As BU said publicly at one point the only person on the team who was bringing their A game every day in practice was Sincere Harris, but Hawkins is entitled to his views and his candor is helpful.

I'm going to tow the party line that that team being a culture catastrophe was the fault of Mayer, Clark, Epps and nobody else. If that starts being proven wrong in November, well, some fingers will be pointed at some well compensated individuals.

You don't see Goode or Domask over TY? I think Ty would be great off the bench. We needed more shooting. It would seem that Goode and Domask would be the best options to supply that and spread the floor.
No way. Ty Rodgers is so good at rebounding, defense, passing, driving for a forward and his basketball IQ and effort is just what any team needs to win. I want him on the court more, not less. If we need more shooting, Goode/Domask can have some of Dain's minutes.

If Ty can develop a decent jump shot in the offseason, he's a first round pick.
I hope that happens but I think that's a huge if. I would be excited if he could start by knocking down 65 percent from the line. I know players improve through hard work and reps but developing a 3 pt shot is going to take some time. I am sure Ty has been working on both FTs and his shooting for a long time already.

Domask is plus in all of those areas as well and can shoot.

Having two non-shooters on the floor in modern basketball is tough and three is basically impossible. Harris, Rodgers and Dainja are non-shooters at this stage of their development. The former two can and must improve in that area.

This board isn't going to like how many minutes Domask gets, you can already tell.

Brad says a lot publicly to motivate guys to try and get them to find another gear … Even if it may not even be true …

Coleman is a gamer … He’d tell you that … Practice was frustrating for him last year because when the staff would go over the plays again and again and again and 2 certain freshman guards would not even get into the action on the first play of the game even though they spent well over an hour on it in practice …

Would you continue to go hard in practice ? It would get frustrating and Coleman showed how frustrated he was during that post game interview at the end of the season … He’s just the only one not afraid to rock the boat … He tried different leadership styles and took responsibility for probably not doing more in that department and not pushing the right buttons … But it’s also very tough as a 21 year old kid and not being the oldest guy on the team to be the sole leader … 🤷🏻‍♂️

Which is why Brad called TJ out publicly for leadership … He needed to step up …
