Orange Crush” is an anti-war song. This song is about Agent Orange, a chemical used by the US to defoliate the Vietnamese jungle during the Vietnam War.

The song's title refers to the chemical defoliant Agent Orange manufactured by Monsanto Corporation and Dow Chemical for the U.S. Defense Department and used in ...
TCDD was a contaminant in Agent Orange that caused a lot misery to a lot of vets. Probably the nastiest of all the dioxins, which as a class are awful to begin with. Very persistent in the environment, it supercharges other carcinogens.

We need to adopt an REO Speedwagon song. Florida uses Tom Petty since he was from Gainesville.
With all of the changes to sports with NIL and the transfer portal and just Illinois sports teams in general, I think the appropriate REO Speedwagon song for Illinois sports teams should be, "Riding The Storm Out".

YouTube Link for those of you too yong to know the song:

Minnnesota scrapping the recruiting barrel

Washington State offensive lineman commits to the gophers to play (CBB) center.

Kid did play a few minutes on the WSU CBB team too.
Kid was a pretty highly regarded bball recruit coming out of HS, who got hurt his senior year (back I believe but might have been a knee). Barely played for Oregon State his freshman year and was a shadow of his former self (or rankings were way off). Looked like he could barely move. Transferred to Idaho I think and I think it was there that at some point he switched to football and finally ended up at WSU.

Not crazy that someone would take a flyer on him, but a P6 school? Hope he does well. We had high hopes for him on the Beavs. Damn injury.

I had a lot of friends who suffered from it after they got back home...................Dark time in American history.........The 60's had
the JFK assassination ...........escalation of the war..................Armstrong on the moon...............free love generation............The Beatles and all the exciting music that came after..........playing with 4 of my buddies in a rock & roll band for 5 years.....my 67 GTO that turned into my 69 Camaro pace car ragtop.............etc etc

I look back on that period of my life and shake my head that I survived it all.........I really really do.......

Not at all arguing the bolded; agree 100% and never suggested anyone should be forced to stay anywhere or continue to be taken advantage of. Maybe you are correct. I foresee college athletics becoming like minor league baseball on its new trajectory. My point is that if that happens, then the kids are going to be right back where they were before all this started - making far less money than now. Not only that, but the days of coaches making $4-$10 million a year will also be over because the money simply will not be there to sustain that business model. Games will be played in front of about 2500 fans, TV ratings will tank, and another great American pastime will go by the wayside. Just how I see it, but I may be too cynical.
Agree that there is a risk of the business model not working. BUT, the issue has always been that the players were SCREWED! Simply put, they received way less than they should of, and got in trouble if they accepted $20 from someone. So I would argue no system like that should ever remain. And if college basketball is a shell of its former self because of that, then so be it.

However, I think this will improve the game. For those who say they don't have a connection to the player, I say "call me again in November," as I think they will be talking about Amani and Domask, and not care at all that some come as freshman and some as seniors.

@TCTORNADO, good to see you back. I don’t know much about NIL$, but I do know that the Guardians Leadership keep their cards very close to their chest…Also, I know the new ICON is totally unconnected to the DIA, and Kathleen Knight had to leave the University to lead it…
Thanks, my source at the DIA retired in December so my info will be sketchy from here on out plus I'm getting ready to start a new chapter in my life in D.C. Mom and I are chasing 2 proud Illini grads and their gf's there. Should be fun times. Go Illini from the Nation's Capitol!!

my dad went to illinois state
In life, we are all graded on a curve and, somehow, THIS is the best post in this thread. Begrudgingly, I present to you, my good sir, the POTD trophy for your exquisite work in the Loyalty Board production of, “my dad went to Illinois state.”
