Toledo mud hens are the biggest competition clearly!I wonder what blue blood will try to scoop up Ray J?

…. And he dominated it.I mean it's Toledo-level competition
I dont get the flack either, he found a player of similar size, in a similar situation, with similar stats and said this is what could happen if it translates. Seems like that's more useful than just saying Toledo stinksYou're getting some flack for this, but I appreciate the effort. It's a more thoughtful comparison than, "RayJ reminds of XYZ NBA Hall of Famer or XYZ Illini legend".
As you stated, the a:to ratio is what is of greater importance for our future pg... especially if TJ comes back.
O440 on the left and Indy on the right.
You’re right. RayJ is way more under control, a better shooter and has more assists. He is a much better player and what we were HOPING Curbelo could…….. wait…… that was exactly what the originalIt’s a terrible comp. Not even remotely close to the same type of player. But whatever.
BingoThis is a great demonstration on why the lay person does not understand statistics. Extrapolation is a fool's errand.

Plus I thought aaeismacgychel is a stats guy, worked with Ken Pomeroy on a website of some kind ? ...

Only one person said his game reminds him of Derwin Williams. But no one was compared to a hall of Famer. You extrapolate put a bunch off of one mention. You're getting some flack for this, but I appreciate the effort. Body type and strength remind me of AJ Hoggard (Mich St), but with better skills (love the lane one handed floater and pivot 10 footer). My one concern is his foot speed, will he be able to D up faster guards.I am MUCH more excited about possibility of RayJ after these highlights![]()
Don’t be bringing that rational thinking and good analysis nonsense on here.Body type and strength remind me of AJ Hoggard (Mich St), but with better skills (love the lane one handed floater and pivot 10 footer). My one concern is his foot speed, will he be able to D up faster guards.
If it’s good enough for Klinger it’s good enough for meI mean it's Toledo-level competition
Lol I didn't see the Derwin Williams comp but that kinda proves my point, which was - it's common for people on Loyalty to compare players and recruits to former Illini and NBA greats. That's not what OP did. OP actually did some research and found a player with an uncannily similar profile to RayJ.Only one person said his game reminds him of Derwin Williams. Stupid auto correct!!Lol I didn't see the Derwin Williams comp but that kinda proves my point, which was - it's common for people on Loyalty to compare players and recruits to former Illini and NBA greats. The original poster did say that… glad someone caught onYou’re right. RayJ is way more under control, a better shooter and has more assists. He is a much better player and what we were HOPING Curbelo could…….. wait…… that was exactly what the original
poster said. My bad.
However, that is not really how statistical analysis works. Because OP is saying he IS Carlick Jones. What is RayJ has more of that DAWG (LOL) in him? What if his teammates are better than Jones?Lol I didn't see the Derwin Williams comp but that kinda proves my point, which was - it's common for people on Loyalty to compare players and recruits to former Illini and NBA greats. I think RayJ has 4 years of steady improvement and is already 22 years old. He Will he be able to excel at B10/p5 level? I don't think he has to be 20 ppg scorer but I would love 12 ppg and 6 apg.
This conversation is so ridiculously dumb. Literally said his game is a POOR MAN’s DWill. Was simply contrasting that to the Curbelo comp. Gee whiz!!! This board is glorious.Lol I didn't see the Derwin Williams comp but that kinda proves my point, which was - it's common for people on Loyalty to compare players and recruits to former Illini and NBA greats. I didn't read it as being quite that definitive. But, yeah, to your point, RayJ has never been on a team as talented as this one. That could absolutely raise his level of play. I'm just hoping for a point guard who can run the offense and set his teammates up for success. However, that is not really how statistical analysis works. Because OP is saying he IS Carlick Jones. XJ got a medical waiver yesterday so they have their PG for next season.
