He’s right about Coach K’s legacy of course. I’ll give ya that. And yes it’s very early in his tenure…BUT (John Scheyer’s Duke)hasn’t proven it is superior to Illinois despite the obvious advantage of Puke’s past glories.

If you were a Duke fan, what would you be saying right now? The sweet sixteen had ZERO…Dookies, Blue Bloods, or John Scheyers this year. Puke obviously did not compete for a Natty. Neither did any of the other Blue Bloods…

Who are the nothings that have become something? If we are average…so are the blue bloods apparently…despite being blue bloods.

A couple possible scenarios:

1. He really is looking around for possibly higher bidders or blue blood level schools.

2. He is a done deal to us but is feigning interest in other schools to give the impression of due diligence, deliberation, and running through the entire process. (A tactic eluded to by an insider here to make it less obvious that there was communication before entering the portal)

The fact that one of our insiders said we’d here SOME news (not sure if it’s about RayJ) on Sunday (then Sunday or Monday) and it’s now Tuesday makes me wonder if it’s all related.

These are the days of our lives.

If you're trying to give a false impression about what you're doing, you probably should keep it in a tighter circle that doesn't cause it to spill on to message boards. Quite frankly, it's laughable to have it openly talked about here by people who purport to be close to the program.

If this was actually the goal, a bit more discretion might have been called for on the part of our coaching staff or whoever is feeding info.

I don't know. I'm not exactly scared the NCAA is going to cite IL posts as evidence of tampering lol.

It's certainly not evidence of tampering. But that isn't the suggestion. The claim is that he's trying to create some impression that it's not a done deal. That impression hasn't been helped by the chatter that apparently is coming from inside the program.

Again, I don't know. I don't really see how that impression has been hurt by anything said here, either. It's just a message board.

there are about 7 kids a year that stay on their team and don't transfer these days. Does anyone think it took Illinois tampering to convince the MAC conference player of the year to leave Toledo?
